I f Hess thinks that Mad Dog's personality is "infectious," is this the kind of thing that we want spreading to our players? I guess we'll have to see if our quota of red and yellow cards increases under our new manager's leadership.! I can appreciate a manager who demands high standards of performance and training from his players. However, I don't want to see archaic forms of discipline and unrealistic standards set. I'm a little bit confused as to how - if we had such an extensive list of candidates to choose from - this particular candidate ended up with the job. However, we have no choice but to wait and see the results, which won't take long to find out about! I'm hoping for the best.
Sadly. it's clear that Hess doesn't have the goods as a manager that he had as a player.

Given last season's disciplinary record, allen would have to go some to make it worse!

statotheblue - thanks for the link to that daily Mail article. That gives me a better sense and bigger picture of our new manager. I'm also more reassured if Tony Pulis thinks it's a good appointment! Now if we can kep more players healthy and on the pitch, maybe we'll accomplish something. Hope always blooms strong in July!
