After that display(I only heard it on Radio Kent), I wonder if Peter Taylor and the players hadn't already written that game off as a certain defeat. Resting players at this time of the season, makes me wonder if he was looking to the Tranmere game to collect the points needed to secure promotion. I believe we will stay up, and Taylor deserves a chance to build his own squad, then we will see how good he really is.

Bloody awful from start to finish,im sure PT didn't do an interview and ramble on about the good points he took from the game!!,Appalling i think compliments players. I question how well orient played?, but they didn't even have to up there game to get that result!!,Sadly i travelled to game with 2 Orient fans, and stupidly sat with them (stand to left of gills fans) so in fact there was 1155!. sitting behind goal i had a great view of our demise!!,first goal was classy,2nd i thought Nelson should have done better. I have to agree with muppet about Martin,if he went down once he went down a dozen times!!,a pathetic performance, from a player i expect better from. It taught me a lesson for sure, and that's not sit in home stand on away days!!,i sat next too Mr "Layton Orient" who every other second was smashing the metal panels behind seats in back row, NEVER again. Players have to take that appalling display on the chin, and do better next time,im sure PT didn't tell the players to play like a heap of shitee?, but did that anyway. IM not a fan of the MOTM title, but from where i was sitting Lingazi was putting himself about a bit,and tried to score a few times?......" tough games coming up over Easter, can we get 3 points in 2 games? ........

The majority of our players are poor ,certainly our central defence especially our Captain(what a joke),but these individuals who state that Taylor should getva chance next season with his own players are massively deluded!Taylor is a good coach with lets say our youth team but as a first team manager he is abysmal!!

Gillsjan, you're one naughty lady! If nobody wants Taylor, who do they want and do you think somebody else would have done any better with the current squad? Personally, I don't think anyone could have done a great deal with the squad, who clearly from day one in this division were found wanting.

Many fans will say it will be better when he gets his own plsyers in. Well so far he has about 7 and most have not even been good enough to get in the side. Fagan and Hewitt have been the best of a pretty poor bunch. We I hope will stay up. It will be Martin Allen's players who got the points very few are down to his players.

Stato, it's Martin Allen's players that are a lot of the issue. Martin, Barrett, Legge are all on good good contracts and have been totally lacking at league one. The decision to award Barrett such a long deal is one of the worst decisions I remember the club making. At least I understood why we signed Wallace and Johnson back in the day. Remember Antonio German? How about the total lack of width he left? The talented youngsters he got rid of? Martin did his job for a season and got us up, but let's be honest, he left us totally ill equipped for this division

Most of the players Taylor's brought in have been loan players due, I would expect, to lack of funds. Whereas everyone hopes these are going to be hungry young players who are on the fringe of Premiership sides, in reality they seem to be players who can't get into Championship sides because they're coming back from injury or they're just not consistent enough.

I do not think Allen did any better in fact the mess we are in is in no small part his fault. But the question I ask is this. If the defence was that bad how come Taylor has not been able to find a single player to improve it?

Frankly I can't believe that muppet and others can't see how many mistakes Taylor made. 1 Bringing in Innes in place of a fit Davies.Yes I know he had a poor match at Stevenage but so did everyone else. There was no leadership there which is the thing most young defenders need. 2 The team picked should have included our best holding midfielder Gregory without a doubt. Also Bayo and Dack would I believe been a big improvement. 3 Not having McKain on the bench at least at 2-0 he could have moved Lee forward and taken almost any one off. 4 The set up 4-5-1 it worked at MK Dons but on the tighter pitch against the stronger attacking side we let them at our weak defence. 5 Asking Harriman to stick close to fhe centre he clearly was as he never got near Cox their winger. The players have to take a lot of the blame but so does Taylor. 1) There is an assumption that Davies is genuinely up to the standard. The fact he has been loaned out to Dover rather than (for example) a 2nd division team probably shows how highly Taylor rates him. Simply Taylor (and Allen before him) doesn't think he is currently up to 1st division standard. 2) Quite clearly from the line up that Taylor had written off the match as being one we'd unlikely to get something from so therefore played a weakened team to keep those players you mentioned fit and fresh for the Tranmere match - I'm sure the local media will spin it as a 6-pointer. I think you've completely missed the whole point of what Taylor was trying to do. Personally, I don't have an issue with Taylor's thinking. 3) If McKain is an inferior defender to Charlie Lee, then why why would you want to bring him on?? If McKain isn't up to the standard then bringing him on would have just weakened the defence and made the situation worse. 4) And if we started the match 4-4-2 and lost by a similiar margin from playing a more open game, then people would moan about why didn't we start 4-5-1... 5) The fullbacks playing more narrow is a tactic. The principle is that the danger area is in the middle and should the opposition look to switch wings with a cross pitch ball, then the full back will have time to move over to get in the way. It is a valid enough tactical set up, but sometimes the opposition winger is the better player.
