The crux of the matter is Taylor revered as a good club manager in the wider footballing family;the answer is a resounding No!! The only think Taylor is renown for is giving David Beckham the England Captaincy and being in charge of a good Englabd U21 team! Taylor is a extremely poor club manager as normal Scally took the easy option jn employing him!!

Sorry John I can't agree Davies has had some very good games for the club none really under Taylor who I agree does not rate him Allen clearly did as per giving him contract extention. I share that view. McKain has not been given a chance nor has Hare so how do we know they could not have done better? They really could not have been worse .There are 7 subs you can only use 3 so there was room to give a young player a place in my view. He played Cody on his own up front for 90 mins even when it was clear it was not working.MOVE Fagan or Weston or use Birchall up front try something. He did not really try anything even when it was clear plan a was a total failure.

We are running out of games to give any of them up early on or before kick off is unforgivable in my book.

Some good points johnknee, but don't agree he gave up before the game. He put out eleven professionals, but I watched with horror as some of our so called pro's ball watched, dived in in the middle of the park and generally failed to find a single angle to receive passes. I have coached football for many years and some u11,s I have coached have a better understanding of those qualities and to be honest would have been a harder player to beat. The players badly let themselves, the supporters and the club down and whilst I think pt should have made changes they are the sole reason for the loss and not the manager giving in before the start

Davies had a number of decent games last season in the 2nd division that saw him get the new contract. The 1st division is another step up and I'm not personally convinced he has stepped up another level. If you think Allen was right to rate him highly enough to offer a new contract, then would you not agree with Allen's decision not to play him in this division? You are right, neither McKain or Hare have been given a chance. I realise your "they can't do any worse" was a bit of a throwaway line but surely you don't think they would have done better? One is an 18 year old who joined from the mighty Maidenhead, and the other an 18 year old youth player. I'm not sure chucking them in against the 3rd placed team is likely to see the best from them.
