I'm not 100% sure how many out of contract players have left the club and how many new players have taken their place. It seemed that a lot of players left including the large amount of loan players coming and going throughout last season. There maybe another signing or two before the start of the season, but there should be plenty of room for loan players to come in. It always amuses me that the pre- season games all take place to settle the team down to find the best eleven etc and then the management bring in two or three loan players and they go straight into the team!

I guess it depends on the nature of why the club have got the loan player eg a defender because all are injured, then may walk into team, look at last year though, we had 2 loan strikers who did not actually see that much action.
Im all for loan players on the basis that a 17-20 year old loan player from any prem club should in theory be better than our own youth players available.

I have been on holiday last few weeks but there seems to have been very little action. It could be we are awaiting loans that have yet to be finalized. We have players on trial both left sided that could be the best clue as to the area of the pitch Taylor is looking to fill.Bit puzzled by the Borrowdale thing myself. He has had time to get fit if he is still not convinced Taylor then that has to be a no or am I missing something. If we were wanting to bring in another left back we could do a lot worse than look at Dover's Tom Wynter I know he is another old boy etc but I always liked the way he played and having seen him a few times for Dover feel he could be worth a cheap punt if Borrowdale is on the table for me if Dover were to agree something IE a player exchange or loan we would be far better off. Wynter is fit can tackle has been playing left wing back.A loan left sided defender seems the most likely loan deal if he was able to play both left back and centre back so much the better. If he is on good wages it would make some sense to hold back a week or so as there is little value in bringing in a player on loan this early. It could be we will look to Ipswich again the trail players may have until we play them.A player or two from the tractor boys would be the most likely move.No doubt after our game with them as it would give Taylor a chance to take a look at them and they could take a look around the place.

Good point re Ipswich stato, possibly a couple of deals there as seems pt has a good relationship with them.

Taylor has worked with Borrowdale before so knows what a good player he could be. At 28, he should be in his prime. A few years ago, he was premiership class and if he can be bothered to get fit, we have a top player.
The worry of course is that he doesn't seem to have taken getting fit seriously. I'm sure Taylor isn't daft enough not to be considering other options if it doesn't work out

This can't just be about physical fitness, as in stamina, strength, weight etc. If a 28yo with everything to gain and the support of a professional football club can't get himself fit what hope is there for the rest of us?!
There must either be an underlying injury (which I would have expected us to have heard about by now) or some emotional/mental health issue that's preventing it. Whatever it is it must be something that elicits sympathy for the way PT has stuck with him. I really hope it does come good, how amazing would it be to have a properly functioning Borrowdale in the side?

Will we ever know? Agree with the majority more to this than meets the eye.
