Story now on GillsConnect and players beware on Tuesday! Breakspear has only had two games this season and already issued a red card in each tinyurl.com/q3u3n8d

Looking at his record he loves dishing the cards, birth colours. With the present injuries could do without this guy!

Then again Muppet, considering the challenge on Cody went unpunished, then maybe such a referee is a good thing. On the basis that he has a reputation for being card happy, I shalln't blame the referee for ruining the game if our players hold back slightly and not go in with a rash challenge.

I always thought that when we went up to league 1 the quality of the refs would improve. That went out the window on Saturday.

Same as last season gillsjan. Agree johnknee as long as our players stay focused and don't lose their composure.

I always thought that when we went up to league 1 the quality of the refs would improve. That went out the window on Saturday. People complain about the referees but I find that upon looking back at the replays on Gills World extended highlights etc, the referee actually gets the decision right more often than what we the fans give them credit for. The number of genuinely awful referees is in the monitory. Often the grumbling is down to the fact the referee either was fussy enough to blow for a foul rather than playing on, or playing on too much.

I agree Johnknee and of course if players weren't constantly trying to cheat refs would be less vulnerable to having the wool pulled over their eyes!

I complain more about the fouls the ref chooses not to see not the decisions that they correctly makes.

I complain more about the fouls the ref chooses not to see not the decisions that they correctly makes. Well said. Shirt pulling and holding now seems acceptable to most referees, also stealing 10 or so yards at throw ins. Stop those sort of things and the game will be improved.

Keds must have thought that he played half the match in a straight jacket last Saturday. Eventually got a reacton from the ref and the supporters in the Gordon Road Stand certainly let him know that finally a decision had been made.

I know they have a difficult job, but as above they do not punish the shirt pulling and diving which infuriates us all. When we get a good ref you certainly can tell so they are out there.
