Since Taylor returned for his second spell at the gills, please give a rating based on last season and this season, bearing in mind how the club have progressed or regressed.
Between 1 to 10 ( 1/2 points included ).
Overall .... 5.5

6 but most of that was based on last season where he done very well. I don't think we have progressed this season considering Taylor has had a chance to have his team in. I like Hause (I know he is a loan player) and I think Egan is class at this level. Apart from that the rest don't seem to stand out. But we are out of the relagation zone so at this moment 6.

10 Taylor has had guts to try something new support it. Stop the witch hunt. Even if you don't rate the manager support the players they will need our support this season.I for one intend to give it.

Taylor did well last season because at least he inherited a squad of players who had "enjoyed" a proper pre-season.
I don't doubt that most (if not all) of the new players have more ability and potential than those they replaced but despite being much younger they are not as fit as their predecessors. I don't blame the players, they are guided by the management.
During Hess's last reign we conceded more goals in the last 20 minutes of games than any other team in the Country. Mad Dog put a stop to that but something has changed and we are going back to the bad old days. You need to only compare the injury stats for the two Managers, the players are not fit enough under PT.
My personal rating for PT, last season 6 and for the current season, a generous 2.

0.5 bring on the witch hunt! But I have us to win tonight that ball will be blowing all over the place it will be like a vindaloo on heat!! Last season you were calling PT incompetent, he did the job he was bought in to do. Now you want a campaign to get rid of him, he has started with a squad mostly of his choosing trying to play the way he wants. As you seem to think you know what your talking about, you should accept it will take time for this to come to fruition. My question to you is who would you bring in to replace him? Where will the money come from to pay him and his staff off and finance a new manager and the players he will need. Please be realistic about the situation we all want The Gills to do well but his will take time.

Having only been able to see the Gills games that were played in my neck of the woods (Sheffield) I am only able to say that I have been very disappointed with what I have seen. We seem totally unable to get a decent header to anything that is passed in the air. I appreciate that he is trying to keep the ball on the ground and pass the ball instead of hoofing it but occasionally it needs to be delivered accurately to a forward or midfield players bonce. As has been said he has brought a decent group of young lads together but apart from Keds, Martin and Loft we have no mature players who can help them during this building time. With that experience in the side I feel we could stay in this division and look to a promotion within a couple of seasons but at the moment we are a boat without a rudder. I will not be joining the ones calling for his head except if we fall out of Div. 1.

No comment or mark as this subject is distracting us from getting behind the team. Time will tell and I am prepared to wait longer to see if we can get this show truly on the road.

I have to agree with Bert on some of his points.
As last season we had the remains of Martin Allens squad, (that maybe just maybe) helped to keep us in League 1.
This Season it is Taylor's and from what i have heard from a lot of people its not at this moment in time very encouraging.
Sounds to me like we have made two good signings in Hause and Egan but would this of been down to Hess..or Taylor.
For me the Jury is still out. but things need to improve. or we will be in that horrid battle to remain in League1 come the end of the season..
At least the conditions out there will help us to possibly scrape a result, as im sure Preston wont be looking forward to our glorious weather.. come on the storm.

Holbrook who do I want to replace Taylor without putting a name out there just a up and coming manager from the lower leagues/non league, lets face it no experienced unemployed manager would relish working with Paul Scally! The only way we are going with Taylor is down that is the cold hard facts,he was a easy option for Scally to employ and the easy option normally turns out to be the worst option!

Anyone, who seriously believes that Taylor inherited a decent League 1 squad is way off. Allen left us with too many one paced and technically limited players. For whatever reason we do not have the money to import the basis of a good an experienced team. Taylor has assembled some replacements on a small budget and some of them show promise. The goal this season was for mid table and I think we will make it. I don't think marks out of 10 mean a lot so I'll go with room for improvement.

Agree jogills, but think we possibly should have retained 1/2 of the experienced players to help the youth along. That being said I have no idea what the club or pt had available cash wise so maybe wasn't possible.
