Gills attempting at the ninth time of asking this season to win away from Priestfield. Only 2 points on their travels and the worst awy record in League One. Only two away wins in the whole of 2014 so far. Good chance here though as Bradford have only won twice out of their eight home games so far this season. Time for a Gills win.....
Gills team today at Valley Parade: Stuart:Nelson, Gavin Hoyte, John Egan, Kortney Hause, Leon Legge, Adam Chicksen, Doug Loft (captain), Jake Hessenthaler, Bradley Dack, Brennan Dickenson and Cody McDonald.
Subs: Glenn Morris, Josh Pritchard, Amine Linganzi, Jermaine McGlashan, Antonio German, Luke Norris and Danny Kedwell.
Bradford on the attack from the off and gained a free-kick then seconds later Clarke fires in a shot across Stuart Nelson's goal. Big crowd fully behind the home team but a reasonable Gills following - possibly get the numbers later.
5 minutes: Nice pass forward from Dickenson to Cody McDonald who scores with a sublime finish but unfortunately he's offside.
Bradford have some 'giants' in defence so the Gills pattern of play must be on the floor for the pace duo of Dickenson and McDonald.
9 minutes: Nice cross into Gills area for Bradford's Stead but he fails to make contact, falls over and the crowd claim a penalty! - obviously not given.
Good open play from both sides as another cross to Stead helped away by an alert John Egan. Loft to Hoyte to Hessenthaler to Dack and a nice forward movement. Move breaks down and Bradford clear.
12 minutes: Stead outpaces Legge and gets another shot away but wide.
13 minutes : Hoyte gets a shot on target after being sent in by McDonald. They are playing well and causing Bradford problems = first corner to Gills that comes to nothing.

BRADFORD 0 v GILLS 0
17 minutes: Bradford on the attack and the cross was headed away by Legge for a corner. From the set-piece Egan has to clear from a dangerous ball aimed at the far post. Substitute on for Bradford as Filipe Morais, who had an early knock, comes off and Billy Knott comes on.
18 minutes: Gills looking confident, good movement and playing well in midfield then of late although Hessenthaler gets booked for a late tackle, Bradley Dack forces his way into the Bradford area and fires a good effort but the ball hits the side netting with goalie Pickford beaten.
22 minutes : Kortney gives away free-kick and Nelson could only punch it away as it came in and Gills were slow to clear completely and Bradford then win three corners in quick succession. They all come to nothing but they were all taken differently - one long, one short and one out toward edge of area.
25 minutes : Great strike from Bradley Dack from fully 25 yards that just went over the bar bouncing on the top of the net. Would have been contender for Goal of the Season! - Gills playing well but so are Bradford and they force another corner. This went to the far post and missed by everyone.
28 minutes: Gills have a corner and Loft to Hoyte who tried a deep low cross to far post that was headed away by Bradford defender. Another Gills corner met by Leon Legge and headed just wide - he nearly had the perfect chance to score again!

BRADFORD 0 v GILLS 0
34 minutes: A real Bradford chance to open the score with great play from Stead to escape John Egan and set up Knott who struck the base of the post with Nelson beaten - ball was scrambled away.
36 minutes: Gavin Hoyte into the Bradford area and a neat cross forced out for a corner followed by another for Gills taken by Dack. Bradford break away but stopped by Gills defence. Good game this - end to end stuff and Gills still in there with a good chance of picking up points this afternoon. Like to see more from Dickenson and McDonald though and Gills must give them better service. Taylor might look to change things in second half but can't complain at the moment as Gills looking capable.
40 minutes: Bradford picking up the pace as half-time approaches looking for the lead. This Stead fellow is an 'old stager' as he goes down again in the area looking for a penalty - ref looks hard but no yellow for diving. Bradford corner looking dangerous but Gills defence and midfield coping well.
43 minutes: Thankfully a disallowed goal for Bradford. Stead gets the ball into the net with a free header at the back post after Gills had not marked him and allowed Yates to have all the time in the World to cross the ball. Lapse from the boys!
HALF-TIME: BRADFORD 0 v GILLS 0 - Gills well worth the draw at the moment (except for the last minute lapse) and with a little more luck and skill could pinch all three points.

SECOND HALF STARTS: BRADFORD 0 v GILLS 0
Boss Taylor must be happy as no changes to team although he will probably give them another fifteen minutes or so.
50 minutes: Bradford started brightly this half and another Stead effort, who is pushing Legge to the limit, had to chase him down. City have no changes as well for the start of this half. Gills have not yet had an attack in second half.
A couple of decent forward passes from Gills midfield but both have caught McDonald just offside. Want more of this as Bradford defenders look a little slow on the turn against pace - perhaps Taylor should bring on McGlashan?
DISASTER : Attack from Bradford but Hause slips and Legge, trying to clear, puts the ball into his own net pass Nelson. Lucky Bradford but its goals that count.

BRADFORD 1 v GILLS 0 - Attendance 12,434 (203 Gills fans)
60 minutes: Bradford boosted by the goal and are now pushing for a second although Gills possibly don''t deserve to be behind. Taylor must be ready to make some changes. Gills defence looking a bit nervy since the goal and Bradford looking dangerous at times. Still no move from boss Taylor when it is crying out for a Gills change to try and get an equaliser. THis would be Bradford's only third win at home this season.
Other results elsewhere have put Gills into the bottom four relegation places - they need a goal from somewhere.
69 minutes: Taylor makes the changes: Antonio German for Cody McDonald and Jermaine McGlashan on for Kortney Hause changing to a 4-3-3 but the highest Gills scorer remaining on the pitch is Leon Legge! This will only work if McGlashan gets a lot of the ball and German finds the net at long last.
70 minutes:Bradford make a change and Jon Stead is off and top striker James Hanson comes on to torment Legge.
73 minutes: Gills not looking as fresh at moment and attacking moves seem to have dried up - got to remember the Leyton Orient experience and keep going at Bradford. McGlashan driving forward with Dack who cuts it back for Dickenson but the ball is hacked clear.

BRADFORD 1 v GILLS 0
78 minutes: Dickenson looking lively and tries to put German in but the ball cleared. Bradford's Billy Clarke feeds Hanson who hits a fine shot but a great save by Nelson keeps score at 1-0. Gills looking beaten to be honest as belief seems to be evaporating as the minutes tick by. Most fans would not give the Dickenson/McGlashan wing threat with German in the middle much chance although manager Taylor must have faith.
80 minutes: Danny Kedwell coming on for Bradley Dack and another formation of 4-4-2 for Gills - last throw of the dice for Taylor. Bradford also make change and send on a defender for attacker - obviously closing up shop not believing Gills can get the equaliser.
83 minutes: Last attack from Gills but German in a good position found himself offside. Gills throwing everybody forward to get the equaliser - desperate stuff.
88 minutes: Danny Kedwell over the bar from a cross from McGlashan who was given the ball at long last.
90 minutes + 4 of added time: Corner for Gills and GERMAN SCORES hitting home from around the penalty spot.
FULL TIME: BRADFORD 1 (og LEGGE) v GILLS 1 (German) - Gills fans in great voice and with five up front finally paid off - Great point with German scoring his second of the season.

If always take an away point. If we can follow up with a win against Vale next week, things will be looking better again
