we must be in trouble if Norris and Dickenson are our first choice strikers, been told keds is going to Cambridge through a ex professional player who has links with Cambridge, finally found a club where he can sit on the bench. seriously though. the 2 named strikers are not the answer to our prays, its about getting the best out of cody with the right formula and playing personnel which taylor is still trying to work out, but it will be too late mr taylor because you haven't got a clue how to set up a team let alone organise a picnic. but its true !!!

You know, SwansGill, you're sounding like a broken record. PT this, PT that....it is ultimately his call on setting up the team, selecting who plays etc. He will be blamed if we go down or have another poor season. That's the way it is. However, it's hard for me to believe that he does not have the basics down such as you describe them. He has been a manager for 10 or so seasons at least and had a generally successful time here previously. It has been a very long time since I was impressed with a managers post game talk. The usual platitudes and clichés are trotted out. Hess was the absolute worst IMO and PT may be only a little better. What do you expect him to say? He can't slag off the team, the owner or the fans. That would be counter productive. He has to use his words carefully - blame the conditions or the officiating up to a point - but don't destroy the morale of the team. Show them some respect as professionals, certainly in public. He's a lower league football manager and he is not being advised by a tony Mayfair PR firm on what to say and how to say it. You are expecting too much. Besides, we are not dead in the water - there is still hope and we might spend our time being as positive as we can about the team. UTG

I might have added that PT could accept more of the blame but that would wear a bit thin and no manager wants to put the nails in his own coffin.

I just cannot believe some individuals are still backing Taylor! We should be content where we are ?
Two words Brentford,Bournemouth two clubs with less potential than us,look what decent chairman and decent managers are doing for them!

Jolly...I agree totally. Some people till backing our manager who played 4321 system. What's that all about ?? We had a decent chance of a win against a very average Chesterfield side and Taylors post match comments were that he was impressed by Chesterfield. You should making sure we impress their manager and their fans. you fool, "players are down, this is a tough league ". All negative talk from a extremely poor manager who should be out of a job. We should have taken the game to Chesterfield instead he plays one up front. If Norris and the poor dickenson are our saviour then it's curtains already. My friend called me after the game and said Taylor and hess were exchanging words with fans.
please do a run and jump because this was pathetic and the buck stops with Taylor full stop.

"My friend called me after the game." ie, Swans didn't go to the game. Yes, there are teams like Bournemouth batting well above their average, however, there are plenty of teams in our own league one who are bigger teams with bigger budgets. If we want a bigger budget, we need fans to turn up and do so regularly. Having gates of around 5,000 means small budgets and taking risks on players. To expect more is to misunderstand the rules of ffp.

What I can't understand is the number of players playing out of position e.g Egan apparently at right back, loft at right wing, Dack God knows where. PT has got Ehmer on loan so he must play him I suppose but Egan and Legge were doing OK at centre back. Legge is suffering badly without Egan beside him. It's a mess.

Its chicken and eggs conundrum though isn't it? You can't expect fans to turn up in large numbers to watch the dross that Taylor gets the team to produce, but you can't get better players without more fans.Somehow Scally has got to find a way to break into that conundrum.Because I'll tell you this, we sold a lot fewer season tickets this season and people seem to pick and choose their games to attend. If we go down (as seems very likely) we'll find it one hell of a job to come back up because I can't see the present setup at gills improving us,and crowds will continue to fall.Over to you Mr Chairman

I agree. The ball is in Mr. Scally's court. It depends what his aspirations for the club is. Maybe will will see in the January window.

Scally aspirations are to line his own pockets. Please tell me why a poorly run league one club called gillingham, who's chairman is living in dubai to fund has lifestyle and suppose to be looking for investors. This is a smokescreen because his only intention is to hide the truth. Wake up people. If you want bigger attendances the team need to perform. Poor football and poor results in turn lead to lower attendances naturally.
Taylor has not proved to be a good manager for us. His shortcoming are cemented and I promise you all Taylor will not be here in 2 years for sure.

When we had gone 5 or 6 games unbeaten some people on this board went very quiet, we lose one match and back they come.
It looks as though the present set up will be in place for the rest of the season, so complaining appears to be pointless. As for Paul Scally just lining his pockets, he could do have done any time he liked by closing down the club and selling the ground to developers. A brownfield site such as that would a fair bit, but he hasn't. Why does he put up with the aggro? Maybe he likes the club or football in general. I don't know as I have never met him, but compared to some clubs over the same time span we have been lucky. Our first game in what is now the Championship we lost to Stockport County, where are they now. Brighton went through a very hard time not long ago, Rotherham were forced to move out of Millmoor , there are others who came close to going under as well. Things maybe far from perfect, but we support a team in the third level of the football pyramid, we are not watching a Premiership side so don't expect Premiership performances. Our players play at this level for a reason, they are not on the whole good enough to play any higher. It is as simple as that, nobody forces us to watch this club, I first went to Priestfield in 1957, since then we have spent most of our time in the bottom division be it Third Division South Fourth Division or whatever they want to call it now. As a Gills supporter you have to have a sense of humour, so come on moaners lighten up.
