Are any of these serious possibilities to take over the hot-seat at Priestfield or do you have your own ideas? tinyurl.com/mr9teyw

Out of those Yates, but got a feeling an outsider may come in late - Would like to see the full list of 70 names.

None of those candidates really jump off the page do they? A hard task ahead for Scally to appoint the right man!

I think there's some good names. Yates did a really great job at Cheltenham. They were in a right mess post Allen and he rebuilt. Think he got them to 2 play offs? Dougie Freedman did a great job at Palace before moving to Bolton. Not sure he'd drop to our level, but again, could be a fine appointment.

It's not a choice I'd like to make and I've more reservations about people I don't want, than any positive suggestions. Big names, such as Sheringham, attract interest and galvanize fans short term. All their contacts tend to be big names like themselves and they have an unerring tendency to look to them when things go wrong. They have no experience of tackling situations without resources and massive back up. They end up saddling small clubs with big salaries for short term has beens.
There will be candidates that are well considered in football circles and that we may not even have heard of. I hope Scally has some inside track on such candidates and hits lucky. It is a gamble whoever he appoints.

The Big Names have all learnt first hand from some of the greatest managers of the current era, I tend to agree that they could bring in high calibre players but at what wage cost. In addition why would Teddy or Danny give up the multi millionaire lifestyle to Msnage Gillingham, unless the Scally Dome is a reality and not pie in the sky Of the others none seem to be of the young vibrant Character PS was favouring If I had to pick from the list I'd opt for Danny Murphy Although my preferred candidate would be Mr Kuqi

As you say, cant see Murphy or Sheringham wanting to take a massive pay cut, so cross them off the list.

Another name to chuck out there would be Mike Phelan who has just left his role at Carrow Road

Kuqi is the best candidate for the gills job and I just don't want this good opportunity to slip by and end up with another mark stimson. Kuqi will prove himself at the gills. Imagine getting players off pardew. Referrals from Hodgson. Fulham. Ipswich and others he has loads of close links with top bosses and.clubs. I can see them rubbing off to the gills.

If its contacts and links you want Peter Taylor has more than Kuqi could dream of.

I think kuqi plenty more contacts which includes European route with some players maybe from some eastern block countries. Taylors stock has taken a nosedive after proving he cannot even manage a league one.side like ours. He will end.up coaching or.managing in the non league, don't think a chairman in their right mind would appoint him at present.
Canvey Island would be a starting point to give it another crack and he can bring in all the young players he likes and have 5 seasons to prove they are good players. Good luck peter !!
