According to the BBC Wales = JE has spoken to the Gillingham players, i wonder how that has gone down with his employers at Newport.

How can he go Back to Newport after saying he has spoke to our players, I also read on the Newport forum Mark Yates was at their match on sat and his old assistant resigned from his job at cheltenham yesterday so maybe they have sorted JE's replacement, I just hope it gets sorted soon

If that is the case it sounds like Scally has done the deal but it is yet to be finalized. Can't see Newport allowing that there will be a big stink if it was not already agreed.Given Wimbledon's comments about our approach for Ardley. Also the number of times Scally has done a manager hunt. I really can't see him falling that far out of line.

I can, read the report on ' county have told gillingham to more than double their offer of compensation' did scally really think they would take like 40k in compensation, the guy makes me so angry sometimes. i appreciate trying to get a deal, and asking a bit here and their, but 3 days of negotiations just with the county board.

Bluff and double bluff. They won't want to keep an unhappy manager. Saying they want it done by tonight is rubbish. I think we have offered 40-50k (according to BBC) so I expect they will settle for installments for the rest, maybe with conditions, like keeping us up another 10k, getting us to play offs next season 20k, getting automatic promotion 20k, getting relegated this year or next, nothing. Might still take a day or two though, but I bet it will be done

Is that guesswork, whoppachoppa, as at the moment no agreement has been reached, and theres a possibility that he could be put on gardening leave until the end of the season? We can all guess it may be done by tomorrow but we have no evidence to prove it will be, unless you know different

Hope I am 100 per cent wrong but I am not too sure about JE. Time will tell. PS does not have a great record in appointing managers.

Hope I am 100 per cent wrong but I am not too sure about JE. Time will tell. PS does not have a great record in appointing managers. Part of the problem since the Stimson era it at least seems that Scally has appointed managers that he felt that we as fans wanted.Hess was a popular appointment when it was made and he followed that with someone who had brought past success to the Gills. At least this time Scally seems to want to appoint someone he believes in.Not someone who the fans are calling for mainly to keep them happy. He is the only person with access to the real CV's and interviews I am sure most of us would think different if we saw the CV's and the interview process. It seems to me that Edinburgh could well move right to the top of the management ladder in time.Give him a chance he seems to be ambitious and must have watched us a few times including TV games so must have some idea of what he is taking on.It has to be a difficult move for him the safe thing to do was stay put after all keeping Newport in the league would have kept him in work until at least 2017.He has shown faith in us and our team we should at least show the same faith in him.

As we now know that Edinburgh is unlikely to be bringing his own his own backroom staff but it is clear his days at Newport are over given fan feelings it would be really hard for him to go back.It seems Scally holds the cards now wage wise. It is possible that we could have offered them a free loan of a player maybe waiting for a that player to agree to go the other way.Would not suprise me if that were the case.
