I don't know about anybody's else's point of view, but what a terrible miss match of Gillingham FC kits over the last fifteen years or so.
I'm obviously referring to the shirts as there's not a lot you can do with the shorts and socks, apart from the colours of course.
When I walk towards the ground on home matches and it's even worse at away venues the amount of different colour shirts is amazing.
I wonder at times at a glance who they support. So far, red with blue sleeves, black, pink, yellow, white, black and blue stripes, black and blue hoops, blue with white sleeves, blue with thin white stripes, blue with red sleeves and the last two year, the Peter Taylor special Blue with two verticals stripes (reminiscent of his time at Cystal Palace) in my opinion the worse yet. It's a bit namby- pamby to me.
I've heard a lot of other teams supporters laughing at all our different kits, which is a clear indication of how embarrassing the kit situation has become.
Give me the Black and blue stripes of the 1999 kit anytime. IMO The time the Gills walked out at Wembley against Man City was the best kit ever.
It's about time the Club and the kit were associated with a corporate image, apart from slight variations you don't see other established clubs change every season. Especially not the whole colour!!. The club will still sell new shirts with slight alterations but at least the club will have an image that all the other clubs recognise.
I would prefer the blue and black stiriped kit, but even a really Blue shirts, white shorts and socks (similar to Everton) would be better than the terrible kit over the last few years. But which ever kit they wear apart from slight changes it should last for years not five minutes.
I hope somebody at the club reads this and takes note, but I don't know if anybody at the club even cares enough, but it should be on someone's radar.
Corporate image is so important and Gillingham FC have lost its way in this respect.
