Marquis impressed early on when he had a point to prove. But then went off the boil when Harris started hinting he would get a deal at Millwall. I am start to think he would have been a Charlie Lee type signing great on his day not so good the rest of the time.Don't get me wrong Marquis will be a real threat for them when we play against them.He will score goals but given the way the crowd clearly got to him last time he played for them this move could even swing in our favour if he wants out in a few months time. There is no doubt Neil Harris swung the deal, if he goes(which he will if Wall are not in the top six by Mid/late September.) Marquis could well find himself back to square one.As we well know with Norris and many others in our past once a crowd gets at a player they rarely let go.In both cases they will need close to twenty goals for there own fans to finally get behind them many people are never willing to admit they are wrong.

Just read the local rag and seems marquis and gills had no say in the matter as millwall exercised their option to keep him so they can get a transfer fee if they sell.

In that case Muppet, sounds like it's no over. Maybe thats why it's only 1 year - they don't want to keep him and expect to sell shortly. Can't think why he'd want to stay. Agree with others though. If he's going to be expensive, I'd pass.

PS goes on to say in the paper that he will be too expensive and the club have moved on to new targets, but guess maybe playing the mind games - who knows.
