Interesting. Got to wonder about Carlisle and Fulham being blue not red. Brighton shown blue but they have a Green Party member there so it's more purple than blue. Quite a few of these have swung back and forward over the years however and will again.

Ready for the most boring fact of the day Sunnyboy? Brighton has 2 constituencies, Brighton Pavilion, which has a Green MP and Brighton Kemptown, which was a Conservative hold. The football ground is in Kemptown. I think it's interesting that despite Labour winning practically nothing in England, if you look at a map of the UK as a whole, they are very well represented in footballing towns. Seems that despite the money now in football and the expense of being a fan, the traditional demographic holds strong. I wonder if it could have been even worse for Milliband if it weren't for Cameron's West Ham/Aston Villa gaffe

Thanks Technical. I know Brighton has 2 constituencies as I used to work there. There is also a Hove constituency. Kemptown used to be Labour as I recall. I think among the reasons that Labour seems well represented in football towns is that they all have an urban core with a decent size population. I can remember when there were several Labour MP's in Kent - Faversham, Sittingbourne and Sheppey, Chatham, Dartford, Gravesend, Dover. One of the Thanet seats - South, I expect - was Labour not that long ago. I think re-districting (speciality of Conservatives everywhere including the US) has weakened the Labour chances and solidified the Tory ones. Just a diversion - not Gills football, I know. COYG...
