I think this season more than most, were seeing a lot of "released" players where the clubs have accepted that they can't keep the player, rather than that they actually want to let them go. I suspect Cambridge would have loved to keep him, but know they can't offer sufficient cash or opportunities to do so.

Not sure about this story seems a little odd to me.It also seems at odds with the comments of the manager.Injuries seem to follow him while he has a fair record he really does seem to play that much.Reading the KOL story below we seem to be after bigger fish.Players who want to play at a higher level based in the south east have a very limited choice if they have to drop down.It seems JED has his eye on one or two of them. www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/gills-wait-for-special-signing-38915/?

If he has injury problems even more appropriate to steer clear of him, we have had too many of them over recent years, which have just drained our wages and stopped us signing better quality players.

I get nervous, for the same reason, when people start talking about "names" Muppet. It usually means they're hasbeens...

Agree technical in respect of older names, but think JE doesn't have them on his radar, he looking for younger talent with a proven record at this level.

There's a rumour on Twitter that we are after Reid. Probably would involve a fee as he's under contract for another year at Plymouth. Probably nothing in it, but he looks like he could be a useful addition. JED probably saw him play last season, and he's a goal scorer wherever he's been and at a decent age and size en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reuben_Reid

Seems to have found his scoring boots the last two seasons.

Having signed two strikers, think we can put this one to rest ?
