Congratulations to England women who won their match against Norway to progress to the Quarter Finals. After a very nervous first half they went behind just after the break. From then on it was almost all England they got back level through a header from their skipper Houghton a few minutes later. But then a stunning winner after around 70 mins with great build up play by 2 subs that then proceeded to play out time almost by them selves with a amazing bit of keep ball.Next up host Canada who almost always win 1-0 but really don't seem anything to worry about 50,000 crowd apart I believe the game kicks off at 1am on Sunday morning.I Think I will tape it and watch it in the morning.Highlights below. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AURY0r7THPU

Not usually a great fan of women's footy, but 2nd half England played some good stuff, especially when the no.8 scott(?) came on. 2nd Goal an absolute stunner and worthy of winning any game. Looking forward to the Canada game now and hopefully another win.

Well done Ladies. Keep up the good work. The likes of Beckham & Co would have been proud to score that second goal.

Having watch a fair bit of the games I have to say I think we can beat Canada. But world champions Japan's are likely to be waiting in the semi's their passing and movement against Holland was a real footballing lesson for almost any team so they should get passed Australia, who have been fairly impressive. But England or Canada will find the Japanese to hot to handle unless they can turn it into a physical battle and get a few good crosses into their box .

The times are fine for me being in the USA so I will be watching. My wife has watched a few minutes and commented on how attractive some of the players were. Think she was referring to the USA - Colombia game.....ouch! No offense - they are football players not swimsuit models....

Do you think USA can win it?Personally I think German or France look stronger to me but it is all on the day of course. USA do look to have a chance but the route is not going to be easy for them. On players looks thirty years ago there would have been few that would interest a hot blooded male. But these days the game appeals to all sorts and has benefited in quality because of it.As I said above the Japanese teams passing and movement was up there with the best I have seen in any game.I can honestly say that there are league one players who could learn a bit about football from some of the coaches and players in this tournament.

Yes, Stato. I do think the USA can win it. Ladies football is much more advanced here as girls play in just as many as leagues as boys at young ages. High school 'soccer' is very big with both genders well represented so they have about 30 years of development ahead of us. Much will depend on the next round but it's conceivable that England could play the US in the final. That would be good to watch. Come on , England....

In a strange way Scott the number 8 reminds me of a Mark Bentley of the ladies game.A little better looking though sorry Mark.Although Jan feel free to disagree.

Is it me or are the German sides lucky in the crucial games? France outplayed them for long stretches yesterday and should have put the game away but missed too many chances. Germany got a dubious penalty IMO with 6 minutes to go and then win on PK's. The USA looked good yesterday but only scored once. Should be a good semi on Tuesday. England go today at 4.30 PST. English-born coach of US team is taking flack from some ex-players saying the team is not fulfilling it's promise and that she made some poor selections to the squad. Still winning so it seems like soyr grapes to me.

Did not see much of the German game I flicked through it but it did seem that the French were on top.But it seems German sides even when they don't play well they get results. The USA game was only shown on the red button live very late here so I did not catch it.
