That was unexpected and can't help but think why if getting on so well with JE. Seems a step back to me. Here we go again on the guess the new asst managers name game - any ideas? Would like to place on record my best wishes to Hess a true gills legend.

Jed may bring in former Newport player and first team coach Wayne Hatswell who took over as assistant manager under Jimmy Dack before Terry Butcher took over the reins tinyurl.com/ngb89sv

Jed ruled out teaming up with Jimmy Dack on Radio Kent tonight but also said he had a couple of young hungry candidates in mind with a decision being announced by the end of the week

Time for Jake to come of age and prove the doubters wrong.Good luck to Andy I did not think he would leave for another Assistant Managers job. Lovell should get the job going forward although I have a feeling he may stay where he is.A player coach may even be considered?

Tried to find out who JED did his Badges with come across this..... www.faw.org.uk/news/Bellamy-in-Good-Company-on-Pro-Licence-Course/96314/Bellamy,Lawrence,Taylor,Skyrme and Davies would all seem very unlikely but if it is someone from this course Kevin Cooper would seem a likely choice and unlikely but just possible Kris O'Leary. It is a long shot but I would guess he would have got to know these guys and I did read somewhere he was looking at "Two Young coaches" Kevin Cooper appears to have been at Newport before Justin. So it is likely they would have plenty of things to talk about away from the course. He also appears to have had a spell managing in Switzerland so could bring new ideas and maybe a player recommendation or two.Long shot I know we are likely to know before long who will take over from Hess? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Cooper_(footballer)

Really think it's a good thing that Hess has moved on and wish him all the best. Nothing to do with his coaching ability- I think he's proven he's a decent coach. However, some of the moaners now won't be able to blame Hess for everything that goes wrong and scream about the club being run as an old boys club by people like Scally/Hess/Hare etc. I also hope that it will help jake who was poor last year, but is a promising talent. Finally, it allows us to judge JEdinburgh as his own man. He's fully in charge now
