Was my motm today. Apparently, he's playing for nothing at the moment. Hoping to prove he's good enough to earn a deal. I'd be getting him signed to a 2 year based on today

Thought I read he had been signed on a short term contract. He is not playing without a wage of some kind. Wouldn't be legal.....PFA would be all over that and rightly so. Can anyone clarify - Big Al, Stato, IBlue?

Good solid performance. Not sure two years appropriate as I understood he has had some injury issues, but to the end of the season would be good with an option for another.

All the statement about Wright read was short term deal. I would guess at first he was brought in to cover for the loss of Loft. To add a bit of experience to our midfield. He is likely to have agreed a wage but maybe no length of contact was agreed thus he is playing for us on a sort of pay to play deal. It is very likely that Josh and the club will look to sort something before the end of the transfer window. I agree he had a good solid game as did everybody and would be happy to get him tied to a long term deal. One advantage to the club of the agreed short deal was the fact that other than short term it did not look like we needed another centre midfielder. With the team falling quickly into place without Ehmer, Loft and Mcglashan. Also nobody could have read what has happened to Dickenson I felt he could make useful cover for Garmston but never thought he could win that place in the side. I doubt Dickenson himself would have believed that would happen. That and Nelson's return to form and deserveingly winning his place back means a lot has changed budget wise since the deal for Wright was agreed.

I just hope Ehmer and Garmston do not the hump sitting on the bench, Ehmer could have stayed at QPR to do that, i am not saying anyone deserves to be dropped for them to feature, obviosuly the starting 11 are there on merit, including the likes of Josh Wright, but i can't see Ehmer or Garmston being happy sitting on the bench come October/November time.

Ehmer needs to try to prove that the team can play better with a back 3. Or wait for a injury. For Garmston he has less of a problem in many ways as Dickenson is likely to play left side of midfield at some point soon anyway. Then he will have the difficult task of proving he is better. Or at least hoping Dickenson proves himself in midfield which is very possible. At this early stage it is unlikely they will be that upset with the team getting results. If they were the ones picked they wouldn't want to be left out.

It would surely be down to JE to decide that was the best formation for the forthcoming game. I think you're right though: everyone will be happy to accept whatever team is being put out as long as we keep getting the points.

Keeping the players happy is the biggest headache JE has to contend with. They will all believe they deserve a place and based on last season they probably do. We won't stay injury free for long and they will have their chance.

Have just seen on sky sports that 2 championship clubs are intrested in Josh Wright after his impressive start to the season. Think we should have got a deal done earlier now it looks like we are going to lose him.

Could be an agent ploy. Not sure we should have given an extended contract earlier as few injuries and needed to prove fitness and ability. Catch 22 if we had given a longer deal and he failed then negative comments would have been made against JE & PS.
