Just got home from working a very rare saturday to find the gills have won 3-1 away to Chesterfield, delighted to say the least, i have no idea what the performace was like but winning 3-1 away i will take all day long, and Donnelly getting another, starting to find his form, 3rd in the league, 6 points from 7th spot, 24 points in total and not even mid October, pretty darn good times to be a gills supporter me thinks, well done lads.

Sounded like a good positive game listening to Gills Player. Should have been 4-1 but Osadebe decided to go for goal but should have passed to Norris who was in an excellent position. Well done Gills good to get an away win again...

From what i have heard we played more of a 3-5-2 with wingers as well, interesting to see JE change tactics for an away game, it obviously worked, did Ehmer go off injured do we know.

Glad to see JE changed away tactics and just what was needed. Seems went 451 at half time and going to need to do that more often away. Bad news re emher, that's 2 centre halts down, but on a positive Lennon looked in good nick Tuesday. Hope emher not too bad as he too played better on Tuesday and obviously needs games. Even setting up more defensively we score 3 so great news in my book. Cracking result and well done the team, management and supporters.

Muppet, silly question, but you've repeated the info that Ehmer is injured. As far as I'm aware, JED went for a changed shape at half time with a flat back four, bringing Morris on as a full back. In JEDs after match comments on Kentonline there is no info on an injury. So where did you get this from or are you quoting from another thread ?

It was on the bbc sport site where I was keeping updated on the game.

Good performance from the lads! I've just got round to reading your piece on Rory Donnelly. Can't hold the ball up and not a gifted goalscorer?! My respect for JE has just gone up a couple of notches if he was able to spot the talent that so many other coaches have missed.

Hi mistert What? ? In case you hadn't wondered I am a big fan of Rory. I did not say anything like that. I said he can't win many balls in the air but he can hold he ball up for team mates with his feet. I never said he wasn't a gifted goalscorer so get your facts right before insulting someone you don't even know and who spent over an hour writing a piece for other people's benefits and enjoyment. I enjoy writing articles and I really don't appreciate it if people question me unnecessarily. Good day mistert. Sam

I have seen all L1 aways this season I live in Lincolnshire. This was the scruffiest performance so far. I dont know whether #24 Dickenson is a good player or not but he is certainly not a Left-Back. He unbalances the defence & scews the whole team leftward. His subs record reflects this. It is no fault of his own and the fact he is prepared to play out of position & look & feel uncomfortable he must be a 100% Pro. I would like to know JE's reasoning for this. Just as a supporter I don't understand the reasoning. I would say this is one of the best teams I've seen (1st game 1962 Home v Torquay 4-2). Yes we have had better individual players but as a team. JE gives me the same feel that Tony Pulis did - get through to H-T & he will sort it out. JE did yesterday. 2nd Goal a peach of a cross & header. A Prem GK may have got closer to it. Nice to see Ewbanks enjoying his football (nice smile when asked if he had ate all the pies) legs gone but still a lesson for our young defenders about good forward play. There #5 looked useful too. I'm not sure whether I like to see the forwards arguing about final passes. I suppose it shows they care about winning

Welcome oursavourscally and well done on all the L1 aways. I take my hat off to our wonderful supporters who attend the away matches. We always have good support much better than many other teams. It's also interesting to hear from someone who was at the match as its after seen differently to the reports.

After his last few performances I have to agree with you oursaviourscally, Dickerson cannot play in a Back four

Against Crewe I would play 4 2 3 1. Nelson Jackson (if he is fit or Morris if he isn't ) Lennon Egan Garmston Wright Houghton McGlashan Dack Dickenson Donnelly Lots of pace out wide to cause a suspect Crewe deflect some problems.

Looks good to me and makes us tighter through midfield.
