Sorry, but it's time to say a few home truths.
1 Far too much ballxxxx coming from the manager and players. I'm absolutely fed up with reading about how wonderful they are without any end result. The last few months have been a disaster. A collapse of monumental proportions. Yet, we are fed the same old excuses.
2. We are constantly being told how young the squad is, and the team is being build for the future. More bullxxxx. This team will fall apart as not good enough, lots of them will either move on, be sold or go back to their parent clubs. Next season will be a completely new team with as many as seven changes and the young players struggling to make an impact.
With Dack going and apart from Egan who else from this young squad is worth any reasonable transfer fees. Yes, you've guessed, no one.
It's obvious that once all the loan players return, JE will need to start again.
Also what's happened to the pitch over the last few months, it looks like a cow patch. With all that money spent over the last couple of seasons it should be immaculate. The fairway on Gillingham golf course is in better condition. What ever is the grounds man doing?
Whether or not the club will ever move to a new stadium, Priestfield is beginning to look a bit scruffy, especially the Gordon Road side and that temporary!!! Golf/tennis stand called the Brian Moore Stand. What a joke, that is. Poor Brian would turn in his grave having that named after him.
The refreshment bars at the Gordon Road and Gillingham End ran by a few teenagers are also a joke. Queues waiting ages at half time until they eventually give up.
Constantly being told about investment. Another pipe dream.
I know supporters look at their clubs with rose tinted glasses, but sometimes it's time to say it as it really is.
This season will go down in my eyes as a huge disappointment. I'm sorry but I can't see a long, or come to that a short time plan.
How can we ever believe the hype again.
Brighton a few years ago were renting Priestfield, no ground of their own, now look where they are. That's what you call vision and ambition, not what we are being fed season after season.
Rant over.
