Well Mancunian, let's hope you're right. No opinion is stupid, it's what someone thinks, sorry for being realistic and sorry for breathing. I hope I'm wrong and I'd be glad to be but if you're asking me what I think, then I think we'll lose 4-0! End of my story so far. If we win, well that's another matter, I'll be on here saying I'm glad to be wrong and well done Steve and the lads, proved me wrong and let's hope they do the same next week. I'm a supporter but realistic, I'm not gonna wear rose coloured glasses if I think the opposite! I think what I think and I'm entitled to do that. I hope we win.

How is 4-0 realistic?

4-0 nothing like a bit of optimism before the start of the season 🙄 I assume that if the unthinkable happens and we somehow manage to win that the forum will be dead, like normal. Unfortunately you are right lose or draw and the vampires will no doubt want blood .All very sad .Some just think they are clever . Real Gills fans stick with it . Up the Gills .Steve Lovell's barmy army . I thought the post asked for a prediction. I gave my prediction. It doesn’t make me anti Gills. I’ve probably been going to Gills longer than you have so stop being a twat!!

I’ve probably been going to Gills longer than you have so stop being a twat!! But what is your prediction based on? I could understand it if we were half way through the season and Gillingham were nailed to the bottom half of the table and had been shipping goals likes it’s going out of fashion every week. It’s the first game of the season, and I can understand people predicting that we might lose, but prediction losing 4 nil is a bit excessive when you have no evidence to suggest that we will play that badly, or that Accrington will play that well. That’s what winds me up, people predicting a constant stream of doom and gloom without anything to justify it other than we’re Gillingham.

Ok perhaps you haven’t read my previous posts. We finished last season winning 1 in 10. We looked really poor, our signing in my opinion have been bargain basement. I’m a realist perhaps you can enlighten me on why we should be optimistic???

Giving upon Steve Lovell and the lads is not a option for me .Some on here have already wrote so very unacceptable stuff . These lads deserve a chance back them or support another team . We may or may not win tomorrow .But whatever the result the fight will go on for both teams .Regardless of bookmakers and so called fans .All real supporters of our club will at least give Lovell and the lads a chance to prove worthy of wearing Our shirt . Our team are young they need you'd backing regardless of the result tomorrow afternoon . Fortunately we still have real support .Thank you for all those who will make the trip this weekend .Be it management ,players staff or indeed fans .Enjoy the day . Personally I have a family event so I will have to wait a week to back the lads in person . As already mentioned I’m guessing this was posted after a few drinks??!! But you seem to of got horribly mixed up between fans that are optimistic/pessimistic/realistic about our chances this season. Whichever group you fall in for the start of this season (and yes your entitled to your view) it doesn’t make you any less/more of a fan. We all want Gills to do well. Get over it. Perhaps don’t post if you’ve had a few....

Well Gillingham go in at the break 2-0 up.
So far we’ve played well, I think our defence has lost concentration a few times, but we are playing much better than we did for the majority of last season.
Chase-Cook and Hanlon have both played well, Hanlon betting the first on his debut.
I’ll admit to being pleasantly surprised so far, but if we can keep it up this is definitely a good start to the season.

The score is looking healthy and it would be a great way to start a season if we carry on playing this way

Steve Lovell's barmy army on the march .i don't do score predictions. But I will let my team do the talking .

So, we won 2-0, played well in the first half but let it slip a bit in the second half. Accrington didn’t seem to be a team on form or with momentum. As for the “bargain basement” signings? Personally I think Parrott did well, Charles-Cook played out of his skin, and I think he may have got 2 assists, and Hanlon scored our first goal on his debut. It’s a good start, but we should be careful not to get carried away. Accrington were poor and I think based on our second half performance a better team could have punished us. Still, it’s better than getting poked in the eye with a stick. 4-0 loss to Accrington “realistic” my spotty hoop. Oh and it might be the only time this season, but we are currently second.

I rate Bingham very highly .Fantastic at Rotherham last season .if he stays fit hopefully he will make our midfield tick .If we have a few new signings impressing that will give the side a massive boost .
