Interesting that SL didn’t make any subs - not even in the final minutes, to slow the game down.
Says something about the fitness of the team that we can compete with a Premier team for 98 mins with the same eleven men.

He even mentioned in his post match interview that he noticed some of the players were feeling the distance.
I was expecting a sub to come on at anytime, so despite everyone knowing he had an ace up his sleeve, he didn't have to play it and thankfully we still come out on top.

They’ve got a week to recover so hopefully 2-3 days well earned rest. Burton have the game of their lives in midweek so let’s hope that helps us

You must understand the concept of ‘ace’ ? Away you go then, explain to me the 'concept of ace' so I haven't misunderstood anything.

Tell you what, I'll do it for you:
1) a playing card with a single spot on it, ranked as the highest card in its suit in most card games.
2) informal, a person who excels at a particular sport or other activity.
Now tell me what I've misunderstood.

You forgot the colloquial use of the term ‘ace’, which includes ‘rather chipper / spiffing old boy’. I suspect this was broadly how the term ‘ace’ was being used.
In that vein then, you must surely agree that our victory over a Premier League team Saturday was somewhat ‘ace’ ?

I don't think it was used in that context and it doesn't really fit, don't you agree?

It was mean't as in during the 98mins, SL still had the advantage of bringing on a fresh pair of legs and running the clock down. Although it doesn't matter now because we beat a premiership club and you can't ask for more than that on the day.

Yes thank you for clearing that up b2b, yes I see he had something still up his sleeve, I just wouldn't have called it an ace!

It's just how the saying goes. Doesn't mean any of the subs are better than anyone on the field.
