On the .92net website the worst ground of the 92 is the Gills.
Says it all!!

Priestfield is a horrible looking stadium and it's not a great surprise most visiting fans dislike the place snd area, because lets be honest the surrounding area is a glum, rundown and tired looking area which very much reflects on the teams image.
There is not much atmosphere and attendances have fallen because the football quite often is way below acceptable standards.
FINISHING BOTTOM OF THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE IS THE SURVEY IS A EMBARRASSMENT TO THE CLUB.

I would have said that was out of order, but most of the horrible old grounds have been demolished and those clubs have new ones. AFC Wimbledon would be down there

Priesthood certainly isn't great but it's not the worst.
Southend is worse for a start.

In the fanzine "When Saturday Comes", Priestfield is voted every year as the worst stadium by away fans.
Brian Moore must be turning in his grave!!!

Its not nice to hear that the club we support is not a desirable place to visit for fans. Southend's group d is nicer than ours and the atmosphere there is better too.
The Gills have been struggling since the eearly Jed days and crowds will continue to dwindle because we are a struggling team with no ambition to be successful.
NEW STADIUM IS THE ONLY WAY FORWARD AND TO CHANGE PEOPLES PERCEPTION OF A POOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE TEAM HIDDEN IN A DINGHY HOUSING AREA.

Its the temporary GillIngham End which everybody hates, even us Gills fans think it's disgrace in the modern game to have such a shed and does highlight the club in a bad way.

Let’s be honest, the so called stand is an embarrassment. I always feel sorry for the away supporters, I talk to many off them at the town end at half time and nearly all of them are disgruntled about the facilities on offer. In fact they are a disgrace.
For goodness sake, it’s been temporary for the last 12 years!!! In the same time, Maidstone have build a completely new stadium and Ebbsfleet have and are building new stands.
I agree with Swansgills888, it does highlight the club in a bad way. If the Club isn’t going forward or just standing still, it means it’s going backwards. In stadium terms it’s definitely going backwards.

Greyfox..We just want a club we can be proud of with a decent football side and a stadium to go with it.
We have either !!!
Non-league sides have better away stands than us, it does bring us too shame when you think Ebbsfleet and Maidstone Utd know how to look after visiting fans with modern structures.

Ebbsfleet have a new stand to one side of the ground. Away fans are housed on an open terrace with no cover. To compare Priestfield to Ebbsfleets ground is beyond stupid....ahhhhh but it is Cyril from Swansea 🤔 Oh yeah and the away stand at Maidstone is something out of an IKEA catalogue, Cyril have you actually ever visited Maidstone or Ebbsfleet???🤔

The away end at Stanley isn't exactly great either, terraces open to the elements with toilets etc in porta cabins round the back.

Never having used the facilities in the away end at Priestfield, I can't comment on that, but some I have visited at away games to supposedly big clubs leave a lot to be desired. Perhaps they have all had a refurbishment since my last visit!

Hold on one moment!!!!!! Haven't we got a chairman who is working 24/7 with the council and other interested parties to ensure that Gillingham has a stadium and associated facilities that will be the pride of the Medway Towns and Kent? In fact he has been doing this task for at least the last 18 years, now that takes true commitment!!!! No, sorry, I do not believe that anything will happen in my lifetime but hey my family have a history of longevity so maybe in the next 33 years something might happen. Probably under a more go getting chairman who makes things happen.
