This is a big win as it lifts us to 14th in the table and creates distance from 3 of the bottom four. Not resting on our laurels yet as we still want to get to 50 points at least. 10 games to go. COYG

I think we have squeezed into the top half of the table into 13th position if the BBC have got it right

Awful game of football played in windy conditions. But I’ll take 3 points anyway when in the position we are. Thought defence was very good and Ogilvie man of the match. So very tight from 12th down in the league so another very important game Tuesday. Mustn’t lose.

First half was awful but the second half was gripping,so pleased that we have kept another clean sheet 3 in 5. Coincidence that since Zakuani has been injured we are playing better defensively? Definitely not in my eyes as I feel that his lack of pace had been a liability! Ogilvie looked like a top class defender today playing in his correct position!!

Despite being happy with the win and moving up-to 13. I felt liked we could of scored more and Im not just talking about the penalty. They looked like they could be caught out easily but we didn't work that to our advantage

We probably need 10 points from 10 games now to be safe. If we don’t get that, we deserve to go down.
Well done gills on a good result and rare home win

Since the beginning of the season, I have wanted us to finish as high as possible without being promoted and I obviously don't want to see us relegated. The problems of being promoted is that we would be playing teams with squads that have players worth millions and play in large stadiums. So we would soon be the laughing stock of the division. As hessisgod said, 10 points will keep our heads above water.

It’s very quiet in Swans and Donut’s house tonight It's not they are currently smashing Tv's and anything else they can get there hands on. What a great 3 points today and it was much needed as it's so tight. Awful game to watch but I didn't care at the end. Get in you mighty Gills!!!!

It’s very quiet in Swans and Donut’s house tonight As always, as a true fan, and as Lovell seems to be staying and he s charged with keeping us up, probably by the skin of his teeth, very pleased with the win but still unconvinced about the future.

Not particularly good football match and played out by two teams that gave distinctly average fare. However, as last week Gills were solid enough with Ehmer and Ogilvie outstanding at the back and their overall fighting team spirit was rewarded. Thought Eaves had one of his quieter games and his penalty kick was poor - his third miss from the spot this season. Oxford goalie Eastwood (reputed to be one of the best in League) had done his homework on Tom and easily saved the kick guessing the right way.
Goalscorer Hanlan was superb throughout with his energy and enterprise - his knack of being there or thearabouts when the ball is in the danger areas will possibly make him a real threat next season when Eaves leaves us. The rest of the team never gave up and as said last week - the quality within will keep Gills in League One.
Oxford manager Karl Robinson gets my vote as 'knob' of the day for his absurd touchline antics and a close second was referee Ollie Yates for a performance of myopic selected whistle blowing.

The ref was quick to turn a blind eye when Eaves was being wrestled to the floor but was quick enough to blow his whistle when one of their players took an obvious dive with no players around him. I was worried he would award Oxford a penalty because he was falling for those dives and they knew it.

Well done Gills. Another welcome 3 points. The team seemed to have settled down and have worked out a method of being hard to score against. Thank goodness for that, especially as there are so many teams involved in the relegation battle. And winning. I’m beginning to think that even 54 points may not be enough to save the forth team from bottom being relegated. All Gills supporters must be pleased with the last few results and points gained. Lovell and the team have done well and deserve some welcome credit. It’s going to go to the wire, but hopefully with the present form the Gills will be a Div 1 team again next season. What happens then is anyone’s guess!

Well I missed the first 50mins incl the missed penalty chance, but after eventually finding a steward to let me in I got to see apparently the best 40mins of what was a pretty awful match, played in awful conditions although not horrendous as I will save that adjective for the general performance . Oxford should have scored a hatful of goals in the time I saw and we were pretty lucky to get the one. I will take it however and at this stage of the season the result and the points is probably all that matters.
What I will say is I can’t fault the effort and particular note to Hanlan who harassed the defence repeatedly stopping them getting the ball forward and well done him to be in the right place to get the goal he deserved.
One of the 4 wins i was counting although we only got it by chance
Up the Gills Simon
