EAVES, LIST, PARKER AND NOW DJ hung out to dry.
Luckily, they will have the last laugh after this season finishes.
LOVELL is only interested in deflecting blame elsewhere.
Taking responsibility as a manager is something alien to SL.
That responsibility will be taken away from him during the summer, so things can only get better.

Captain,
We all know Steve is not the answer and I agree it’s not great to watch. We ain’t getting Evans, would be great but let’s move on. Let’s give Lovell our support.

I told everyone what his man managment skills were like even before he signed for us. And everyone including swans and Donut said I was chatting rubbish and didn't know what I was talking about. I said he will slag the players off and the team before admitting he got it wrong. In fact I can never remember a time at Ashford when he took the blame for anything which is always a problem if your a manager.
Fair play he has done an average job in keeping us up so far but we camt have this next season. We need to progress and under SL we won't do that I'm afraid.

Heard yesterday at the match that PS will bring in Neil Ardley in the summer 😩. Agree we need a new manager but not him please.

Surely nonsense when he has Evans in waiting, who wants to come, is a friend of Scallywags and Scallywags wants him. Neil Ardley as far as I'm concerned is a total red herring who thinks he was too good for us when in fact he wasn't even good enough for Wimbledon.

Neil Ardley would be a bad appointment.
Steve Evans is the obvious choice to get us playing a brand of football which will bring the crowds back.
Like Dazza said, thanks for the bang average memories SL, but we need to move forward and that starts with his summer exit.

Captain, Evans is not coming here. PS cannot afford him and Neil Ardley is from a great source. We play his old Wimbledon on Saturday, we need avresult as they are bombing it!

Lovell’s latest comment re ’It was a mistake playing Darren Oldaker” just goes to illustrate that once again he shows his worrying limitations of being a competent manager and motivator. www.kentonline.co.uk/medway/sport/lovell-playing-dj-was-a-mistake-200671/Anyone with the basic rudimentary knowledge of GFC, or football in general, would have realised that the Gills midfield against Bristol Rovers was poor selection and woefully inadequate for the purpose of penetrating a poor Rover’s side all within ten minutes of the start. Lovell’s error was ‘freshening’ up the team because they were ‘tired and jaded’ in the previous encounter. If professional footballers cannot play twice in one week it must be a poor indictment for signing them in the first place and their ability to mentally absorb pressure. Lovell’s coaching and motivation ability must also be called into question. However to be fair, this is possibly not true in GFC but Lovell obviously overthought the problem and then believed his own hype. Not sure what Lovell achieves by his comments re Oldaker and Lopes as it certainly doesn’t placate the majority of supporters and will only discourage, plus deflate, the players publicly denigrated for their performance. Certainly this is an unusual and naive management motivation technique and obviously not to be recommended. Supporters do not want to hear the workings of Lovell’s footballing brain on his selection methods, which mostly defy logic at the best of times. What supporters do want are the basics observed such as keeping winning formations and tactics plus any mistakes rectified quickly on the field of play. Weird set of comments - in the article, he twice says that it was his mistake for picking him. He's owned up to his own mistake - not sure what the problem is with that. Ironically, you and a few others singled Oldaker out on the thread about this match as being particularly bad and at fault. Now you're moaning at the manager for saying that he shouldnt have picked him. Bizarre. "He struggled" isnt exactly damning criticism. "Supporters do not want to hear the workings of Lovell's footballing brain." - what do you want him to say every week? Game of two halves, the lads did their best, we'll regroup next week? What's the point in hearing stuff like that? I'd much rather hear something interesting around what he was thinking, even if I dont agree with it.

I'm off to Hong Kong and China tomorrow.
Gonna find Harvey Lim....ex-Gills keeper who we picked up from Norwich. I bumped into to him on a train when I was in Hong Kong about 15 years old maybe. I remember a defender called Tim O'shea who played for us and he was out there at the time and Neil Webb ( ex Notts Forest).
