Just wanted to see how fans rate our new goalkeeper.
Do you think he will better a goalkeeper for us than Tomas Holy ??
If we had both Bonham and Holy fighting for the top spot. Who would you choose right now ??
Bonham...with no hesitation !!!

Bonham had the better record last season, but he had a better team Infront of him, and a different goal keeping coach.
I think Bonham is a good replacement, and if Evans sets up a good team Infront of him then he'll be a fan favourite in no time.
But, we do need a capable reserve keeper who will be pushing for a starting spot and keep him on his toes.

Bonham for me. More consistent. Seen him twice live and liked what I saw

I am just happy he’s 6’4’’. So he won’t look tiny compared to Holy which would be bound to draw negative comparison . Have to say what I’ve read I’ve liked. Like all keepers up to him to try and build a a rapport with the fans quickly and that is easier for a keeper than an outfield player. Simple things like after final whistle holy more than any other player would come closest to the Rainham End to give his appreciation of our support. Whereas my favourite player on the field Byrne never makes as far as the D before turning around and appears can’t wait to get off.
Sorry what’s Bonhams first name ? John ? Perhaps a new song / chant related to that?

Agree with what you say mancunian with the exception of "a better team in front of him",unless I'm wrong Jack Bonham came to us from Bristol who finished ,albiet I think only one point in it ,two places below us can't make that one compute.

I am confident that Jack will perform consistently and give our defence the reassurance its needs, if we are to be successful next season. Something that has been sadly lacking when Tomas Holy was our keeper.
Positioning and reading the game Verbal and Physical communication. Good hands..soft hands while collecting the ball, being strong when needing to punch and generally being tough.
All qualities needed to be a decent goalkeeper. Holy lacked all of them, so hopefully Bonham can be a top keeper for us.

He came to us from Brentford,he was on loan to Bristol Rovers. Aware parent club was Brentford ,however played last season at Bristol so fair assumption Bristol was the "better team " in front of him and not Brentford.

You don't keep 18 clean sheets in 40 games on your own. While Bristol as a whole did slightly worse than us, their defence obviously were doing something right to keep 18 clean sheets and only concede 44 goals. Holy kept 16 clean sheets in all competitions, but conceded 77 goals. If we had a stronger midfield I suspect we might have conceded a few less goals.

Anything is going to be a improvement on Holy.

Maybe Bristol Rovers midfield was not any better than ours, but they kept a lot of clean sheets because Bonham is a good keeper,

yes..any decent team must have a solid and consistent goalkeeper. I think Bonham will prove that this season. Holy was never consistent and I am confident that Bonham will keep more clean sheets for us, than Holy will for Ipswich Town.

TBH I not even sure that Holy will keep his place all season. Ipswich fans who are used to seeing championship keepers will get frustrated with some of the type of goals he concedes. Good luck to him and I hope he does well, but I think we've got the better keeper

Would have been interesting to have heard what Evans assessment was of Hilt that he said he did for a Championship team earlier this year 🤔🤔
