A local Yorkshire based journalist has dismissed the speculation linking Steve Evans link with the vacant Doncaster Rovers managerial position. Evans was an even-money favourite for a move back to Yorkshire with some betting markets over the weekend.
This is despite Evans only just taking the reigns at League One rivals Gillingham. The former Rotherham United boss has yet to take charge of a game for the Kent outfit following his appointment in mid-May. However, Sheffield Star deputy head of sport Liam Hoden has tweeted there is ‘absolutely nothing in’ speculation linking Evans to the job and that ‘no conversations between the two parties’ had taken place.
