"for the season". Indicates that the embargo has been lifted.

Companies House still show the accounts still overdue. Also spotted a list of “current” shareholders of the company including myself which was nice to know and a good friend who sadly passed away 10 years ago 🙁

You would have hoped that if the embargo was lifted they would have included that in the press release. There is of course one other possibility .....

.... that the club hasn't appreciated/understood the full extent of the embargo and it'll all collapse

.... that the club hasn't appreciated/understood the full extent of the embargo and it'll all collapse They wouldn’t have been able to sign them at all then, they have to register the players with the league when they signed.

You would hope that to be the case, especially if a club is under embargo, but I'm not convinced the EFL system is that robust. There have been cases in the past, when once they have gone through the detail of the registration, a transfer has not been ratified.

You would think that the club would wait for all that to be completed before announcing the signing. Registering a player is a relatively simple matter

Let us not turn this thread into another Scallybash.
Welcome Dan. I hope that you have a good season with us. A good season being one where you improve as a player and we improve as a team. Hopefully a promotion at the end of it.

We could get round the rule by signing him for 6 months with an agreement to extend the loan in January. We tend to have January break clauses anyway

The new guys look to be about as good as we can expect, given the circumstances under which the manager is operating. No proven performers but some with potential to be fulfilled we hope.
