A little more evidence, again using geography to determine which clubs I look at; Peterborough...5 Directors, total salaries £144k Lincoln City 12 directors, declared total salaries on accounts...Zero Cambridge...Paul Barry, boyhood fam and owner bought the club for £2 million, last FY shown put in another £1.5 million and has also found two US investors who have become minority shareholders. His chairman and 7 other directors have no salary shown in the accounts. So far, at none of the clubs can you say that the owner(s) only interest is in extracting money. In fact 0 from 6, small sample but not quite that 99% So you found 6 clubs out of 92 teams in the top 4 leagues in English football where chairmen either take no or little salary. Well done you. The figure of 99% was obviously not meant to be taken literally, but it’s irrelevant you don’t have to be a “fan” to own a club. And Scally is allowed to take whatever he is legally entitled too out of the club. If you don’t like it, but the club, or find a person or people with the means to do so. Crying about it on the internet and repeating the same tired old lines like a stuck record won’t change anything. Ah and there you ve dropped yourself in it. No you don’t have to be a fan, so that you can rip off the club you own. So true. But we re not talking about that are we? We re talking about being a fan, which Scally claims to be, whilst denigrating true fans for not being fans whenever he gets the chance and saying how much he loves the club he takes 200000-300000 plus out of every season and charging interest on a loan to the club he loves (and no one else does) and that he is supposed to be a fan of. Coupled with Summerwells small but very significant evidence, I’d say we re getting short changed. And so would you. Never forget, you are not a true fan in the blood sense so that will colour your thinking and you don’t know enough about Scally to come to any human conclusion, you just know how the system works and you use that to argue your case as though the system is right. Let me tell you, Scally is a Millwall fan and there s no room for any club else, he can never be a true Gills fan and we see that in the accounts. He can fluster and bluster and visit people and get in the news with his latest bombast which covers who he really is but most of us will never be convinced about his actions past and present.

How am not a “true” fan? How do I “not know enough about Scally”? I’ve never said that Scally is a fan of Gillingham, so I’m not sure where you’re trying to go with this. Football is a business, if you don’t like it then do something about it instead of crying on the internet.

Yes an answer I expect. You should know perfectly well where I’m going with this.

Wonderful news...despite the club turning in a loss, the latest accounts show Scally was able to award himself a whopping 27.5% increase in 'consultancy' fees over the previous year to £214,345. As before this does not take into account payments to family or travelling/expenses.

As before this does not take into account payments to family or travelling/expenses. That is inexcusable, but he is perfectly within his rights to do so. The only way it might change is if someone buys the club, but I suspect the fee that Scally would want would be much more than the actual value of the club.

He is perfectly within in his rights to act inexcusably. Typical of the world today, rogering us with their actions, I won’t say corruption, in case you take me to court, and getting away with it because of their self entitlement. You really are a patsy to them all Manc. Perhaps you want to be one of them. Alright to act immorally as long as it’s legal. That’s about right. No answer from you necessary, you ve hung yourself as always. Don’t want to hear your logic, it stinks.

That's about right ...the 'inexcusable' is now tolerated, even condoned. What do we expect from those in positions of authority but lies, dissembling and abusing the system? In the world of football, however, at least outside of the very richest clubs, there is evidence ( we all know how boardsters like evidence- as long as it doesn't conflict with their own views) that many clubs are run by people with genuine interest in the sport, not the money.
I added another 4 clubs to my research, just spreading out the search geographically, not cherry picking to suit my case, and included Southend, Northampton, Oxford and MK Dons. Like us Southend have not filed accounts but the last time they did there were 5 directors with a total of £30k remuneration, Northampton;3 directors, zero remuneration; Oxford 3 directors, no director salaries, even though the club made £1,4 million profit, MKDons; 7 Directors ; 115k salaries. It's common knowledge that at Oxford and MK the owners have actually put large sums of money into the club coffers.
Just to remind ourselves that at GFC one man is taking £214,000. Far from 99% of chairmen using their club solely for the purpose of personal enrichment, it's clear that this is the exception rather than the rule.

The majority of season ticket holders have donated their season ticket payment to the Club to help it survive. It seems that our chairman has not made any financial sacrifice. Not the best PR move on his part
