How were we going to “miss out”? We had already signed 2 keepers weeks before this news broke. Something makes me think we’re wouldn’t have wasted one of our loan signings on a keeper if we had any intention of signing two full time keepers. Try thinking things through before mindlessly copying things from Facebook?

Gills tried to sign Corey Addai as first choice replacement for Aaron Chapman before the other keepers come in recently.
He decided to join Crawley Town last month appaeently, even though the news broke on the 4th July officially.
Crawley have also signed Dom Telford ..Newport County's top scorer last season.
Looks like we are struggling to bring in our preferred 1st choice players.

Funny how you didn’t mention it until this article went online, even then you were a few days late with this breaking development.

Stop asking for too much info, you saucy fool. Because you don’t have any information, you see somthing on social media and then repeat it here and try to blah that you have some sort of inside information. You have no proof that Addai was our first choice, that article just said Gills were interested, not that we were actively pursuing him.

Any debate about players we haven't signed seems entirely redundant. The issue is that we appear to have only 13 players with just a few weeks to the start of the season.

True, but we have till the end of August to finish our signings. I think that with our limited funds it is sensible for Harris et al to take their time and do their homework to ensure we get the best bang for our buck. One of Evans’ many problems last season was, what seemed to be panic signings just wanting to get bodies in without apparently doing anything more than a cursory check as to their injury history and whether they would actually i this style of play. I expect signings will gradually start to speed up. More loans will come when teams decide who they want for next season and full time players will come the longer they go without a contract and their demands will drop to somthing more reasonable.

I think we are all in agreement that we need a striker or two. At least one permanent and the other a loan. I don't think prices or expectations will drop for the 3 strikers we have been linked with,as they are all under contract. Paul McCullum at Daggers, Harry Smith at Orient and Alfie Rutherford at Dorking. All of those will require a fee, so their prices aren't likely to drop unless they agitate for a move, and they will have to drop a lot for Scally to pay money. I'm seriously worried that we won't be able to sign a striker, as per Steve Evans first year with us when he couldn't sign anyone in the summer ( apparently he spoke to Kieran Agard but couldn't agree terms) so got Akinde in the January. If we don't get a proven goal scorer in ,we will be mid table at best

Ollybeak..agree with you.
Any successful team will need a proven goalscorer and without one you are always going to struggle to win matches.

You don’t know that evans did that at all. He must just be absolutely terrible at judging players then considering the amount of sick notes he signed and the number for player he decided weren’t good enough after 2 games and the dropped.

Evans wouldn't be 'signing sick notes' - that would have been down to the medical staff. In such circumstances no Manager could force a player out onto the pitch. However, I hold no brief for Evans - in my view he was disruptive, argumentative, crude and a convicted fraudster into the bargain.

But he had the ultimate say, although I’ve heard that his training methods resulted in avoidable injuries. He certainly signed numerous players that he told us were great, and that we would all love them only for him to fallout and drop them thus wasting the budget on players who didn’t even make the bench.

No, he didn't have the ultimate say. Players signed off by medical staff would have been protected by employment law, which he could not over-ride. On other matters I entirely agree.
