The say he had was to research who he was buying. Take Reeves for example. Wouldn’t have taken much research to know what we were getting with his record

No, he didn't have the ultimate say. Players signed off by medical staff would have been protected by employment law, which he could not over-ride. On other matters I entirely agree. It’s not hard to find a players injury history. Why pursue a player if they’ve not managed to play more than 20 odd games each of the last 5 seasons due to injury?

Manc..Evans had to take calculated risks on certain players. That is part and parcel of football.
You must remember that Gillingham FC is not an attractive football team by any stretch with a tight budget and a toxic chairman who has given our club a black mark.
Evans in certain instants would have to had to take certain risks on players with his wheeling and dealing. He did not have the luxury signing all his first option players due to constraints, so striking a balance is key when you are restricted by finances.

Then he was just a terrible coach as Harris did much better with the same group of players. It’s amusing to see you try and defend Evans and absolve him of blame.

That’s not actually what’s happening...only in your head.

Manc...NH did well when he first came into the job, once the new manager bounce evaporated. We were very poor and no better than when Evans was in charge. Evans would eventually turned our form around and he would have kept us in league 1, because he is way too shrewd to get relegated.
NH did get us relegated it's on his CV forever.
Scally's last minutes appointment of NH on January transfer window deadline speaks volumes about the circus culture within the club.

Harris worked wonders when he turned up considering we were 10 points from safety. But he was stuck with Evans poor signings, some of whom we have to put up with for another season.

Swans- I’m a gills fan
Also swans- the club is toxic, nobody would want to work for us, nobody would want to play for us, the manager is shite. Also, I won’t go and won’t spend any money.

Evans is a foul-mouthed lout, a fraudster and was an embarrassment to the club. His legacy is our relegation to L2.

NH CV will read relegated as manager of Gillingham Football Club 2022. Yes, but any club he goes to will also note that we were 10 points adrift when he took over, and ultimately only ended up getting relegated on the last day of the season. They will know the state Evans left the squad in and they will know what Harris achieved in the short time he had. You must be very naive if you think any future club he applied to would just look at his CV in isolation and not the wider context.

Evans is NOT the reason alone why we were relegated and to suggest it shows gross misunderstanding.
