Thought I'd phone the club today about a season ticket or two. I didn't renew last year for the obvious reasons, but thought I'd go back to doing what I've done in the past 25 years by getting one. Interesting chat, I don't know of anyone else has had this experience... The club had early bird prices, fair enough, but before I bought one I needed to see the fixture list, I work 1-2 Saturdays a month at music festivals from April until October, last year I missed about 6 Saturday matches unfortunately. The fixtures have been kind this year- meaning that I can make all but one Saturday match as it stands- hurrah!! Anyhow I asked how much it was for my old seat in the medway stand £480- plus two kids ones at £50 a pop. I pointed out it was cheaper to buy an adult matchday ticket and get two free kids tickets each time, so where is the incentive to give the club money up front? I asked if I could buy the tickets at an early bird rate, computer said no, but the upshot is my family and I are now less likely to attend every home game we can and less money will be added to the club's coffers. Not a rant as we will be there on Saturday, but surely the club needs some joined up thinking to encourage people to invest in the club, especially those who have done so in the past.
