Internally confirmed as new manager. I’m assuming the club will announce tomorrow publicly or maybe slightly later once work on the retained list is done.

Not my choice, looks cheap, had good players to help him get promoted at Cambridge so he ll need to be backed but I welcome and back him.

Not my choice either, doesn't look like he has the ability to take us back to LG 1 or higher, please prove me wrong Mr bonner.

Read Paul Mullin autobiography he absolutely loved Mark Bonner when he managed him at Cambridge. Hope he gets the fans onside early and has an impact.

It's an odd one this, given that Harris was the replacement when Bonner was sacked. Best of luck to him.

podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/pyramid-podcast/id1707586777?i=1000654391613For anyone interested in finding out more about him. The Cambridge fans loved him and were gutted he was sacked. He signed Mullin when he wasn’t playing regularly and turned him into a record breaking goalscorer. He signed Ironside, Hoolahan. He wasn’t my first choice, but he sounds like he has something about him and has got a club with less resource than us promoted before. From listening to the podcast, it was hinted that he turned down the Rotherham job when at Cambridge so maybe we’ve done well. Who knows?

Had a look at bonners stats at Cambridge, played 201. Won 77. Drew 43. Lost 81 = win % 38.1 🤔🙄. I think that speaks for itself why he was sacked!

38.1% win rate is better than any Gills manager since Justin Edinburgh- 38.6%

Your right, but jed only managed to get us to about 9th place I believe, which is my point! Good luck to bonner, I hope he's the man to get us out of this awful league.

We shall see with this one. My horrible gut feeling is that it could be clem all over again, unless we have some serious recruitment we could be in the same situation in 12 months time. Bonner has to be given the chance to bring in the players he wants. What concerns me is that he likes to play this one up top counter attacking football. Our past 3 managers have done this and it is boring to watch and we don't score many goals. It might work if we have a serious forward who can poach every chance like Mullin(Andrews would be good in a pair I bet, but is not that player) Underwhelmed...

The last time he was in league two, he played 2 up top- Ironside and Mullin. He played a diamond in midfield with Hoolahan supporting them. They were top scorers in the league and Mullin I think broke records there. He was more defensive in league one because Cambridge couldn’t afford to keep or replace their best players so he was left trying to work miracles with no funds (sound familiar?).

Recruitment is key, maintain Harris was let down and Clem definitely was. Any club going for promotion needs 3-4 good strikers. The last time we did it we certainly had them in stock Kedwell, Burton, Cody on loan and the evergreen Myles Weston as well
