I don't think Bradford scoring came as a surprise, but I do think we deserved a draw. We didn't look like scoring ourselves, but I thought it was a better performance (though not as entertaining) than at Bury - at Gigg Lane I suspect even if we'd have scored 10, we'd have let in 11!
The goal looked to be 100% down to Cronin, and he also made a big error early in the first half half coming for a cross.
I was pleased with the defence and midfield - they really got stuck in and worked really hard.
Barry was possibly my man of the match, even getting forward a few times.
Lawrence was good too, and Gowling looked a different player to the game at Bury. Hopefully Hessie now knows that our best central defensive pairing is Lawrence + ANother, and that he is never a right back!
Nutter almost cost us a goal in the second half, dallying on the ball in our box, and didn't get forward too much.
Bentley - well done old man - up and down the pitch - his legs certainly didn't look gone on this performance.
Payne and Spiller both worked really hard all day long. Both tried to keep the ball on the ground and pass it forward to Bayo.
Palmer - a couple of awful corners early on and probably was the right man to come off on this performance. I might have been tempted to take Nutter off instead and drop Palmer back to left back.
Macdonald - clearly got some pace - looked fed up when pushed out to the right. As a fan, there's nothing I hate more than a player who doesn't look bothered - and from what I've seen so far, Cody's got a lot to do to convince me. Lets keep on with him though - despite these comments, he put in more effort today than McCammon has managed in his entire Gill's career.
Adebayo - held the ball up well as usual, but nothing he tried seemed to link up with anyone else.
Weston - good to see him back, but where do we play him? - I thought the midfield was worse with him and Jack, and Spiller didn't look so comfortable wide left.
Oli - also good to see him back - would have preferred him to go wide right and Macdonald up front when he came on. I think Dennis is best used as a 20-30 minute impact man.
Stanley - might he a bit too much of a luxury?
It will come good - it will be at Accrington.
