Yes it was his fault, a real howler and I dont think much of him as a keeper.
But WTF is Hess on???
He is working on a book called "shite man management, how to alienate your players and undermine their confidence"
Even stimson wouldnt be this stupid, I mean to single a player out for major criticism straight after the game is idiotic.
The sooner we get rid of this incompetent manager the better.

You are right that we should feel sorry for Cronin. It's really not his fault that he's been given the job of pretending to be our goalkeeper. It's Hessenthaler's fault for signing him in the first place.

A dont forget the countless errors the outfield players made. Cronin made one error, our other players missed 10`s of chances.
Our defence is not bad, our midfield not bad but our attack is bloody awful

That is the drawback of being a goalkeeper. As an outfield player, you cock up, there are 9 others with a chance of covering your arse.
As a keeper, you make one mistake and thats it, the other 10 can afford to make a mistake and wont get slaughtered whereas the keeper will get absolute hammered, as his own manager did to him yesterday.
Agree with jaggysnake that we shouldnt have signed him, we should have got Royce tied-up for another year.
Durham has a point about our "strikers", they arent really up to it are they.
Hessenthaler is clueless, totally out of his depth and slaughtering a player in public is the thing that has put the icing on the cake for me.
Problem is so many people are up his arse because of his playing days and undoubted love of the club that they cant see the wood for the trees.

Well we tied to get Royce tied up for another year but when a club in a higher division come in for one of your players then it has to be accepted that he was never going to stay with us.
Cronin is exactly what he is meant to be, a half decent number 2. He has made some good saves but his communication is poor. If he could match his shot stopping ability with good communication and decision making then he probably wouldn't be at Gillingham as number 2 and would be playing for a club higher/at the same level as us as a number 1.

Ok bigjon, you spent all of last season calling for Stimson to be sacked and you've started this season demanding that Hess goes. Both according to you are "shite." Given that you've slagged off both managers, who would you appoint? And I want a name or two of realistic targets, not your normal drivel about "anyone except Hess, because he's shite." You criticise the players brought to the club who are reported to be on £400 a week. Who would you sign in their place who would play for £400 a week? If you could post something constructive in response rather than just coming on here sounding off, that would really help the debate

Feel sorry for the keeper - marks out on ten 3
NO friggin WAY
He made an absolute howler, missed a ball that the average park keeper would have caught.
He also came and missed in the first half, if their useless big lad up front had half an ounce of talent he would have hit the target and scored.
Neither of out keepers are that good, but as people have said we are in Div 2 and have no money - so for now we are stuck with them
The Cat man - for fecks sake sort it out Hess

Hess is god, pull your tounge out of your heroes arsehole for a minute and realise that he is a shite manager. You will realise this one day and it will probably break your heart.
Think rationally, Hess isnt god is he, I mean please, get a grip.
Peter Taylor would have been an appointment I would have looked at, theres a good starting point.

Peter Taylor who before his team beat us yesterday had a team doing worse than ours... A manager who joined teams like Wycombe who were on the up but the moment things go wrong jumps ship.... The only reason why he has a certain amount of status with us is that he happened to get the managers job for our promotion season having inherited a team that was 10 seconds from being promoted.... Hess is not a 'shite' manager, but he simply isn't as good as what some people think he is. Your extremism is as bad as those who think Hess can do no bad and that our current position is a conspiracy by the footballing Gods and the lady...

I recall reading that as part of his departure from Palace, he wasn't allowed to manage a league side for the remainder of the season (he was linked with a few Championship teams). No surprise he jumped ship immediately the moment that end clause was finished.

I notice that bigjon has gone strangely quiet? I'm guessing he has no other suggestions?
