iblue, ever since you've been doing an excellent job on the match reports, and now this observation of the current position I find I agree with everything you say. In fact I haven't wanted to post any negative feelings as I really want Peter Taylor to do well.
However, Why oh why are the club heading for another season in Div 1 struggling. Other teams like the Gills in Div 1 have had a complete clear out and bought in lots of new players. Notts County and Crawley to name two. Both have settled far better than the Gills.
Although I hate to say it, without a large investment of capital, maybe Div 2 is the Gills level. There is a miserable feel about the place. Home games, with that dreadful Brian Moore stand make the atmosphere disappear in the doom and gloom of yet another struggling home game. The only football league club in Kent and it's like a morgue. All the season ticket supporters sitting near me in the Medway Stand spend most of the game moaning, gambing on their phones and swearing at the team. I took a nine year old boy to his first ever game to the Scunny game. Shame but never again. What are the commercial team doing. Where are the supporters clubs which have been promissed for the last fifteen years. Year on year a different idea falls by the wayside. The club is loosing it's heart and I don't want to say it, but is becoming a bit of a joke. Gills lost again Ha Ha. After supporting them for over fifty years, I hate it and I hate the way people are talking about them.
What's happened to the ambition of the Club. Other clubs like MK Dons, Brighton, even Crawley leave us standing.
It needs action Paul Scally and co or Div 2 here we come.

Some good points Greyfox. oh you for got to mention the mickey takers famous saying "Same old Gills"lol.. I find it hard to believe that we are in the situation we are now. struggling in this what i would describe as the weakest league one in quite a few years.Mr Taylor has had a whole season to get us in better shape than we are now. There are no excuses whether it be we are looking to the future etc etc. you can still build for the future by adding youth and experience,as the right experienced players will help the youth. heres an example young Hess towards the end of the Preston Game over hit a through ball towards one of our strikers, Jake was very annoyed with himself and stood there blaming himself, where was the older experienced player to say unlucky Jake lets go again. i cringed for the young man as encouragement goes along way,(we've all played the game)the only person i see say anything was Hess senior.so the point that i am trying to make is yes bring on the youngsters but lets have some older players brought in who will stand up and be counted and encourage the young men of this team.. i have often seen Taylor having a shouting frenzy when the players do something wrong... we as supporters are told not to do this.. but get behind the team.

I hope we get three points tomorrow to shut some of the doubters up. I must be In the minority but I enjoyed our performance the other night and would hate to go back to the same old shitee I have watched with the same aged teams of seasons past.

With you there muppet. PT gets a lot of patience for me by trying to play better football and bringing in kids, rather than journeymen dross. I like what he's trying to do and hope he can pull it off

Was reading though this thread and only stopped to see who wrote this comment . I guessed and was correct . I will read your future postings with more interest . Definitely not a muppet by normal definition of the word :-)))
