Not sure the fa could do anything else when an employment tribunal ruled against the club

Not sure a fair outcome from reading the majority of that document, but fair doesn't matter if you don't follow the so called rules. hope this ends this saga as sick of hearing the mccammon name and word footballer in the same sentence, he was never the latter.

Like me and many Gills fans who are probably confused over the definitive difference between racial discrimination and racial victimisation. the link below might give some explanation over it in the work place tinyurl.com/ngcruxl

Re-education courses, reminds me of the Soviet Union and other communist states. They couldn't get the club on racial discrimination, or the fact that their employee was a waste of space. Therefore the PC bigots had to look elsewhere to take revenge, and the FA's supine response speaks volumes about todays attitudes.

Not only seemly unfair to my way of thinking, but contradictory as well as sure I read that AH and NS were not discriminating against him.

Paul Scally is going to appeal - this is possibly a mistake as the FA have found him 'clearly the driving force and decision maker....in the way it was handled' - plus he has failed in two appeals already.
Therefore he would be well advised to pay up the £75k from himself (the other £75k fine is the Club's - although it will probably come out of the same bucket) plus an extra £3,500 x 2 costs - and hope that the matter is then closed without too much 'mud' sticking to the Club's Priestfield walls. His FA punishment 'educational' course is also another clue to pay and keep quiet, as the FA clearly think our Chairman needs some sort of HR guidance. I would have thought employing a decent Human Resource manager would also be a good future move as his 'people' skills are often found wanting.

I think it's a common problem in football clubs and those outside of th Premiership and Championship rarely have human resource managers.
The phrase 'but it's a football club' is heard regularly and they generally think they can operate under their own rules.

I have always thought that Gillingham deliberately made McGammon's life difficult because he was costing the club big money, he wouldn't accept a generous pay-off to leave and they wanted rid of him. But this had NOTHING to do with the colour of his skin, and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he was bloody useless. However, I cannot see this defence going down well, either with an FA appeals panel, an industrial tribunal in any other courtroom outside football.

Mark MacCammon was no more right than Scally was. Mac used the system as many do throwing a sickie at work comes into the same category. The problem is many employers do no know the rules or just think they do not have to obey them. Time to move on of course Mac was wrong people like him are making it harder for the rest of us in the work place by using the system. It would be nice if we could return to the old working values of years ago. Where almost everybody was happy to do a fair job for a fair days pay. Where we don't have agency jobs taking over from real jobs because of people like Mark MacCammon. I have wasted more than enough time on someone who has had more rubbish written about him being dismissed than he ever had as a footballer.

You mentioned footballer and Mac in the same piece stato. Arhhhhh... I am with you Muppet rarely did football and McCammon mix. In fact in many ways he just got paid by Gillingham football club. The fact that Uncle Paul Scally does as well and probably spent more time kicking a ball than he did. What he did most of the time I am not sure. I very much doubt he had many real injuries like most other real footballers. Guys like Mac make me appreciate those players like Mark Saunders even more a guy who would literally run into a brick walk for you if it served a useful purpose. While Mac would not cross the road for you unless there was a tenner or more in the gutter on the other side.

This is a lesson to everyone I think. I've had people working for me in the past who were a waste of space and it's hard to treat them properly (i.e.the same as everyone else) when you know you're paying them too much and they're not earning it. However, ultimately that's the employer's fault for taking them on in the first place and then not managing them (out) properly.
Unfortunate that MM had the race card to play. I'm sure he was treated differently because he was useless and lazy, nothing to do with his skin colour, but the club really should have dealt with it better and not left themselves open to this. They're a decent sized employer, they need to get the HR stuff right, or unfortunately pay the high price.
