Why isn't the Maidstone game being played on Saturday,I have it as being played on Monday is this correct ? The FA had a brilliant idea of playing all 5th round games in midweek. I believe to help clubs still in Europe, but disregard for the rest. I know a couple of Maidstone St holders who can't go, guess it is on the TV though, not quite the same.

Until just a few minutes ago, when I got back from a couple of days playing golf in Mexico and wanted to find the Gills score, I always used to read everyone post's on this site until now 2.37 pm CT,when the bulb went off and I realized there was a moron on here. Congratulation Hessisgod with that post above you really did show your as dumb as your hero.

Shows how little you know about the club- I’m pretty sure most fans will be cheering on Coventry to the rafters

We wouldn't be namby pamby about it like the P C society today. Maidstone supporters dislike Gills with a passion and vice versa that's called football rivalry... Yes Maidstone have performed extremely well to get to the 5th round of the F A cup but Gills fans do not have to like the fact...

I never had that impression TJB, I always liked Maidstone and I'm sure a lot of others did, even after the FA cup way back. I was taking my Grandson to Ipswich to cheer then on and I was highly delighted when they won. I'll be cheering them again on Monday. I'm a Chatham boy but also a Medway one and also a Kent one. Yes we ll have a rivalry and hopefully one in the League soon enough but I don't hate them, they re a Kent side and we should support Kent football success.

I am also from Kent but on the S E London border in Welling. When I moved down here in 71 as a 10 year old I had never heard of Gillingham Football club or any rivalry. I sooner learnt about that in 1980;my parents lived on the Chatham ,Maidstone border near Roch Airport and I remembered catching the 101 bus back home with my kid brother which was full of Maidstone supporters and the atmosphere was toxic.. Of course we then lost which was terrible,Frank Ovard haunts me to this day. I then worked in Maidstone for 29 odd years and my work colleagues although some became good friends were full of anti Medway rhetoric.. My daughter has played in the Kent schools cup final at their new ground which was a nice occasion but the rivalry is going to be always there ... I think the rivalry between the Medway towns and Maidstone has been there for decades...

How can there be a rivalry,we have not played them in 30 years, half the people on this board were not even born then of course unless you count the 0-2 thrashing they gave us in 2023. Being such a rivalry did you go and watch that game ? You were on a bus as a kid heading for Maidstone wearing your Gills gear after the game and you were surprised they took the we we out of you.I remember the time when ever Manchester United had an away game it was a bloody miracle if the bother boys didn't kick the living daylights out of a few dozen home fans after the game with there Doc Martins, you seemed to have thankfully got off lightly.

I can only assume donut you didn’t go to the derbies. Their fans were utter scum I went to two in the FA cup, don't recall them being any worse than us. Younger ones would probably have some kind of twisted rhetoric, something I don't undulge in, childish. I like Maidstone United. There were some who thought they'd conned their way into the League back when, maybe so, but it all went bang in the end anyway. Now they ll have to do it properly if they want to progress. No reason why they shouldn't.

We didn't really have Gills gear as you call it back in the late 70's early 80's other than maybe a scarf... Don't worry I have seen it and probably been involved in minor incidents in the mid to late 70's so I am not naive... I also guarantee you there still is rivalry..
