Flitney - 7 kicking was good and he handled the through balls miles better than Julian. His eccentricity works with the defence we have because he isn't afraid to come out and run for the ball.
Fish - 8 good passing, good coming forward, the width on the right. Those who worry about us not having width on the right shouldn't because Fish creates it. He's hardworking and doesn't mind to get forward and cross.
Martin - 5 didn't do anything (to the point that I asked my cousin what he thought of him tonight and he said "Who? Joe Martin was playing?" Maybe due to Rooney in the first half and they didn't really work down their right at all in the match so I won't be harsh. What he did was clean.
Lee - 8 did well. Got forwards, clean and good today. Didn't lose the ball much and other than a rocky first ten minutes played well. His only fault might be that at points when the centre of the pitch got clogged he and Weston didn't do much to widen play (although I would put more of the blame on Weston). Injury wasn't serious (heard from staff in dugout saying that he wanted to get back out there and rejoin the play - which I think is brilliant to hear, always good to know a player wants to play.
King - 7 The King is back, Long live the king. I believe our fears shouldn't be because he seems to have put the worst behind him and played well today. He played well but didn't have much to do so in the end wasn't setting the pitch alight.
Richards - 7 I always worry when Richards is on the pitch. He did okay but like always didn't make his mark.
Whelpdale - 6 I wasn't impressed. However he did help create movement. The problem was, he lost the ball a lot and although went into space and got into positions he was always giving the ball away. He also was quite often found in the wrong part of the pitch, which wasn't too bad as Fish came forward but still would have helped clear the centre of the park. Just an off day I would put it as.
Weston - 6 as stated earlier I believe Weston's problem was he didn't get the ball wide enough. He would get it in the centre of the pitch, and if there wasn't a lot of room he would either lose the ball or run back 20 yards before passing to Flitney. Maybe he isn't suited to the team now. Maybe he should go.
Roons - 9 definately the best player on the pitch today. He was impossible for them to cope with. He didn't have his problem I found with him last season which was he would often not pass and just shoot. Today he knew where the goal is and knew when to strike but also when not to strike. He passed a lot he created width on the left, he drove the ball to the corner of the box and then would double back run across the 18 yard box and either have a short, one of those scored, or pass it off well. Rarely lost the ball and reminded me of a young Jarvis. The only reason we scored three goals in the first half with Lee and Fish.
Oli - 5 Diesel was pants. He had a few gold sticker moments but whenever he did it was with a run which nearly every time ended up in us losing the ball. Not good and angered Hessy a lot. I agreed with Hess, it was shocking.
Payne - 4 this was such a poor performance it deserves nothing to be written about it. It was horrible to watch and just cringeworthy. I hope it was a bad day because he did nothing but lose the ball for us.
