I wasn't Ian Hendon's biggest fan and I'd certainly disapprove of Iffy Onuora rejoining the club to replace him. Iffy sure was a club favourite back in his playing days but I just can't find any redeeming qualities in him and I know many other Gills fans don't particularly like him either. He has hardly set the world alight with his coaching since he started out at Walsall.
Anyone who ever saw Big Ron Manager will know how arrogant Onuora can be. The walls can be tumbling around him and he'll reject any help from wiser heads and wait to be sacked. Is this really the kind of man we want assisting Hessy who isn't the finished article yet himself.
The man only got the sack from managing the Ethiopian national team the other month.
Unless Iffy has got some decent tatics and back up plans up his sleeve we should stay well clear of the man and experience is a must.

To be honest, it's Hess's choice and I'd support anyone who he feels can add value to the team. I doubt that man will be iffy, but if it is, I'd remind you he has plenty of experience, both as manager and no2, is regarded in the game as a good coach and had a decent record as caretaker at gills. I'd imagine hess is getting a little sick of us fans telling him who he should and shouldn't sign as player or coach. That's why we pay Hess- to make those decisions

i would disagree with this Iffy has the relevant coaching badges and has been in charge of 60 odd games as manager, With the exception f his first stint in charge of Swindon where his win ratio was 22.5% he has achieved a ratio of over 40% at every club since, wouldnt want him as manager but would definitley say given his passion for the gills and inteligence I think hed be a real asset. As for arrogance surelyy this is an essential factor for all coaches and players to have a degree of this. I personally want to see this process of having players and coaches who really want to be here continued and Id put Iffy in that category.

Sorry, ollybeak, but fail to see the necessity of rather low personal slights of this nature lets have some constructive comments, Agree with hessisgod whoever Hess selects as his man will have my support, not necessarily blind or without any criticism if it become due. As for Iffy well as posted previously his track record is not the worst around.

I'm sorry but this was gonna be said sooner or later...
But I'm a bit Iffy with signing Iffy
On Ethiopia it was due to him speaking about cows to the media that he got sacked, not incompetence. He might be good he might be bad it is difficult to tell really.

I agree its got to be Hess's choice, however I think it is important to get someone in with some passion for the club and a bit of inteligence which is why I dont think Iffy can be ruled out as unsuitable. On Ethiopia bit strange not sure what went on there but from what Ive read he did seem to get the respect of the players,
