I think the team will be...(not that it counts!) Flitney Martin Fish Lawrence Frampton Spiller Whelpdale J.Payne Lee Montrose Kedwell I think the Gazza v Flitney is a close one and also the Fish v Fuller but Hess bringing Fish in I think will edge it for him. I would play J.Payne over Weston all day long... although I personally think that J.Payne,if he wants to play at a higher level should concentrate on being a full back, but he is a far more solid and reliable player than Weston. Weston, although gifted, goes missing for 88 minutes in a game. I've no doubt he might create something for the other 2 minutes but that is not my cup of tea for a player.....sorry! If Weston grows one of those red things that pumps blood round the body he could be a great player but I get the feeling he is just going to be a waste of talent

I think the team will be: Flitney, Fish, Martin, Lawrence, Frampton, Whelpdale, Lee, Montrose, Spiller, Weston, Kedwell. Personally, although I'm not a big fan, I'd start Rooney in place of Spills, just because he's one of the few who scored goals in pre-season and with no Birchall, we need as many scoring options as possible.

Al - what has Weston done all pre season to make you think he deserves a starting place? Personally he would not even make my 16! He needs a serious kick up the arse to get his best form back. Don't think fuller will start either Fish has looked a class above him in the 3 home friendlies, he can actually cross a ball which is helpful.

This is what I THINK hessy will choose Gazza Fish Lawrence Frampton Martin Whelpdale Lee Payne Spiller Weston Kedwell Also, I don't know whether we could play frampton at left back and king at center back. Only he knows his fitness levels although he has come through pre season so he must be as ready as ever. I don't think hess would have said gazza can be number 1 if he wasn't going to be number 1 and I definately think fish should start at right back because we need lots of attacking options if we play 4-4-1-1 at home to Cheltenham who are pony. HOWEVER, I would love to play 4-4-2 depends on the quality of the new loanie striker but DO NOT play oli or payne. UP THE GILLS!! 2-0 WIN

Touch tricky with a few people disappointed...but the CatMan thinks
Gazza - Hess thinks he`ll play in the Prem, I suggest he`s good enough to start for us in Div2, also Flitney hasn`t looked as confident as would have hoped
Fish - just ahead of Barry, he`s better going forward - close call
Lawrence - my player of the season last term
Frampton - Captain..at last a real leader
Martin - ahead of Jackman, I thought he looked good end of last season...half decent pre season
Whelpdale - real class act , will tear the league apart
Montorose - height important, looks a really fit skilfull player, decent passer...has to start
J Payne - big season, for Jack...time to deliver...his injury last year held him back...I feel a lot of clubs will look at him this season.
Lee - heart of midfield, effort, attitude and class...just stay on the pitch
Spiller - crossing and passing has been first rate pre season...Spills of old
Kedwell - works hard, links play well...and he`s our only striker who looks like he knows where the goal is
Subs - Flitney, Barry, Weston, Richards and Oil
see Flitney, Barry and Weston all being very disappointed
Gills to win 2-0
The CatMan...sort it out Hess
