Personally, I think Connor Essam is better than Callum Davies and should be given an opportunity to step up if required.

[Can I just remind you that the same King & Richards were the centre-back pairing who got us out of this league before and we also have the very capable Callum Davies. I realise there are question marks over King's fitness, but I'd argue those 3 as back up are as strong as any in this league. I wouldn't say that at all!! Its hardly the same King and Richards at all is is?!!!Do you think King is the same player as the last time we got promoted then? I'd say there is a slight question mark over his fitness!!! Richards, I feel, has gone backwards and although Davies may have potential he won't get a look in and if Hess thought he was 'capable' he wouldn't of signed Frampton. I also believe that Hess would use Lee as a centre half before Davies as well.

I think we will do very well this season, we have a very good sqaud and are just missing, since Birchall got injured, a goalscorer in the Cody mould, Frampton,Lee and Whelpdale were excellent signings and Gazzinga could be a fantastic Keeper. Weston needs to discover his best form as on his day he is one of the best players in the division, Jack Payne and Luke Rooney (ignore the stupid comments Luke) could also be stars this season and if the fans get behind the team and we have a bit of luck we could have a great season, cmon u Gills!

So when the chairman and hessy sign us another forward could srtill be cody mac he still not left for anyone else I take it that everyone will be happy.
With a midfield of the quality we now have we players like Whelps and even more in Charlie Lee we have the best midfield in this league, with a strong midfield comes great sucess

With a midfield of the quality we now have we players like Whelps and even more in Charlie Lee we have the best midfield in this league, with a strong midfield comes great sucess Provided we don't try attacking down our left flank where were have no natural winger.... ;D I'm still slightly weary about the squad. Without doubt we have signed some quality players and we have one of the best teams in the league. Not sure we are quite as strong as a squad.... If Whelpdale gets injured, who do we have who can really dominate the right wing for us? I know both Weston and Spiller have played there, but they have been nowhere near as effective. If Kedwell gets injured then what? Oli and Payne? Yes I know Hess has said he'll look to bring someone else in, but is it really going to take 2 weeks as I saw a quote of him say? Who do we have to play effectively on the left wing? No doubt we'll put a right footer on the left to make up the numbers and will no doubt float in and cut the width.... We seem to have a lot of depth in the middle of midfield, but we could struggle if we pick up a few more injuries.

Did I see you on the kentonline debate suggesting we'd finish bottom half John?

Did I see you on the kentonline debate suggesting we'd finish bottom half John? Nope.... When and what debate are you referring to? I think we'll finish top half but am hesitant to say playoffs until I see when and if Hess brings in another striker...

Something about us struggling this year as our strikers are worse then another comment about how under Pulis our defence and midfield weren't great but our strikers always saved the day, but this season roles would be reversed

I've managed to find the discussion and it definately wasn't me... I was at work at the time....
I wonder who it was writing under that name? I do hope it wasn't a deliberate attempt to blacken my online name....
Got to say that while I agree with the poster that we had excellant strikers who could nick us games with a bit of individual magic, to suggest the likes of Ashby - Pennock - Butters etc were limited players is complete pony... The trio of Hess - Smith - Saunders had everything... I'd probably take Pulis's skeleton (those mentioned above) over Hess's signings. Those players also had the mental strength that we sadly lacked in last season's run in...
And personally I like Fuller and would pick him over Fish who I haven't seen play.
