A 2-1 win at Crewe with only two yellow cards. Now THAT is worth saying Hessenthaler has got it spot on...
Fantastic result, may many more like that be around the corner.

Nice to see you on here being positive, Jaggy. Way too early to get carried away but promising signs if we can get another striker in. Can't wait for Barnet Tuesday

Blimey jaggy thats almost praise for hess, not bad for a manager you detest.
Great Result, a ground out win. And a solid defence and keeper in the last 15-20 min.
Great start to season, as hessisgod says cant wait for barnet tuesday. Bring it on.

Nice to see we built on a positive performance on Tuesday and continue that form into today.
I also predict a win at Barnet to send us top of the league! UTG!!

Blimey jaggy thats almost praise for hess, not bad for a manager you detest. I think 'detest' is a bit OTT, but he messed up last season and has made mistakes this summer, and I think he gets far too much leeway for his mistakes from blinkered fans. But unlike his many worshippers, I am prepared to see things both ways and always say well done when it's deserved. My whole point in the week was that people were wanking themselves silly over a defeat. Defeats don't impress me, never have done. Today we've won - now it's worth praising him. I'd say today he may well have got his game plan 'spot on'. And as for being back on here - I was impressed by the win and didn't want my already rock-bottom stock to be further discredited by not being on here after a good result.

Got to say, I find the "Hessenthaler worshiper" very ott as well. I don't think there are many if those on this board. For example, I'd have supported Scally has ge sacked Hess after the Dover game. Frankly, I couldn't see how he could carry on after that result, given we were fighting delegation at the time. Not many were backing Hess at that time. What most balanced fans have seen since, though, is a very good set of results over a considerable period. Yes, we're disappointed we bottled it at the last minute last season, but to many fans, it showed Hess was capable of bringing good players to the club and getting results in league 2. Many of us were jittery in the summer until the signings were announced, but again then there more balanced fans looked at the players we'd signed and were excited, even if most of us accepted we were a striker short. So it's not about "Hess worship", it's about a belief that the guy hasn't been perfect, but by and large done ok since his appointment. He's made some mistakes - mainly resigning some of Stimson's no hopers, but then Alex Ferguson bought Obertan and Bebe for a lot of money and sold them at a huge loss, so I guess no-one is perfect

Also jaggy it should go on record what you have said many times before. e.g. if we fail to get promotion this year then while you will be dissapointed, pissed off, sad or whatever, you would also be elated, happy, as hess would have to get the boot. And as you never wanted him, dont rate him, and anyone who disagrees with you is a 'hess worshiper' So overall, you want promotion, but while you would be annoyed if that is not achieved, you would also have a glow of happiness as hess would get the sack. I always want the gills to win, get promoted etc.... but never lose especially at the expense of a manager, weather it be pulis, rhoeder, stimson,or hess.

Elated? Find a post where I've ever said that, you friggin stupid inbred little mong. I've always prided myself on not falling to your name-calling level but perhaps that's the only language someone as painfully stupid as you may understand.
All I have ever said is that last season was the least enjoyable I have ever had as a Gills fan. Any manager who hadn't been Hessenthaler would have been hounded out for that, yet most on here still think he's fantastic and did well last season. He didn't. End of. And my comment about him going is fair enough - another season like last year and I'd be not bothering anymore.
And a man called 'hessisgod' claiming not to worship him. Staggering.

jaggy your last comments are very innapropriate and go way below what i have ever said to you.
And the rest of my post is factually correct, so to be met with your reaction obviously shows your true colours, and you obviously dont like people dissagreing with you. The gills would be better of without supporters like you.

I would actually say that many level-headed and sensible fans would consider up to the Dover game as extremely disappointing. However they would also credit Hess and particularly Scally as to the way we recovered from the relegation dog-fight to the very brink of the play offs, while accepting that he had to take some responsibility for the last 5 games.
