Personally I welcome this news. He's young enthusiastic and very talented and hopefully will improve even more with experience. The Hess name is symbolic with the Club and I for one look forward to seeing a lot more of this young player.

With you on that one Gillsjan. Hessie is a legend and took us to higher heights. Remember young Jake running out onto the pitch with Dad...the gills is in his blood so good luck tohim...our youth is our future!

Although he did struggle to make a impact at Stevenage.I feel it was the first time I had seen him below the standard we need.Having seen Jake play a few times in his youth days I have a great deal of time for the lad.He has not not where he is due to being born with a silver spoon in his mouth as some will tell you.He like most others as this level do so by putting in a lot of hard work. While of course he is a Hessenthaler and he has some of his dads best traits to me he is his own man.He may or may not ever live up to the high standards his dad set.But judge him please as Jake the young lad out of our youth side.As I know most on this site will. And not as Mr Hessenthaler Junior as some will.It is great credit to all those coaches who have helped see another young lad start a promising career. I believe the only way long term we can move forward as a club. The support from most of the crowd for our young players should be applauded. I am sure it has helped him without it Jake and others would only hear the mindless few who will no doubt continue to do their best to damage the club.

Excellent news. Jake is a talented, young footballer. We have a youth system that has produced some fine players in recent seasons. The next step is to make sure that the next crop reach their full potential and so provide the best possible advertisement to attract more young players to GFC.

Good news for the club and player I think. Thought he has played very well , especially up until two games ago when I thought he looked a bit tired, but hey his 19 and allowed a few of those. He has plenty of time to develop further and I think Taylor will assist him move forward and learn. Definitely one not just for the future, but now as he is good enough.

Excellent post from stato. Only way we'll develop is to bring these young players through and blood them. Hess and Dack are two fine prospects
