One thing Scally must ensure if we stay up or go down he must not let Taylor be manager next season,a lot of his tactical decisions leaves a lot to be desired! Not sure that I blame Taylor that much for Wednesday the main fault has to be the players the straight forward stuff was not good enough. No manager could have done much once the side was picked.Peter Taylor is a punt in some ways good and bad rolled into one.Not sure I want him next year as yet but not sure I don't.Lets face it we don't know who else would want the job.If Scally does throw it open we could do better and worse. Although few would be both like Taylor appears to be.If you could somehow stop him from making silly errors he would seem to be doing well.

I think Taylor has done enough on his performance so far to get the job. We've definitely come on after Allen left. My only worry is that none of his signings are yet to set the world alight. They've looked good on paper, but I'd argue they haven't massively improved us. I like Fagan, but he's been injured and on the bench. I like Hewitt a lot, but he's been injured a lot. Smith- meh. We haven't seen Borrowdale. Our new centre back looked good, but lasted 42 mins. The previous lad from West Brom looked like a rabbit in the headlights when defending.
Given he has a whole squad to rebuild, I'd hope given time that he will be able to sign the right players, but he evidence isn't there yet

Once again we run short of players who are up to playing the full 90.Far to many just can't do it. Today there were at least 3 if not more who are never good for 90 minutes I have to admit I believe it is a worrying trend.Off the top of my head we have in no order Fagan, Whelpdale,Hessenthaler, Bayo,Weston,Smith,Linzanzi,Piggott? and soon Borrowdale all of who seem hard pushed to make a full match to any standard. Not all Taylor's fault but he has added to the list.It really is a must that any player we sign for next season teenagers apart must be able to play for the whole match. It limits subs for tactical reasons and takes the edge off the side in the final third of the game.I am still sure we should be good enough to stay up but we do need a fresh start whoever is in change fitness must improve as well as footballing skills.Taylor still needs to prove he can do that I really hope he does but time is running out.

So after another 1-0 defeat today do we start to look worried a bit. We SHOULD be ok, but its now just 6 points and some teams have games in hand, I can't help thinking 'final day drama' i hope not though.

Yes, but for the second game running Taylor has had an early substitution forced on him through injury. He seems to be having no luck at all on the injury front.

I don't think PT knows who his best 11 is, Sorry mistert but i don't buy that injury luck thing, we do pretty much have a full squad, making 5-6 changes from wednesdays game was too many

Just glad we are not in Crawley's position two games in a week appears to be too much well Taylor clearly thinks so.I just do not understand why not sign loan players who can play the full 90 and two games a week,if you knows that is a problem. Which judging from his team today and in the past his changes point to the fact he knows that is a problem.

All I meant was that he'd (hopefully!) got an idea in his mind of the way he wanted the team to play which didn't involve having Weston being on the pitch for as long as he was.

There is no such thing as a "Best XI" although there is a "Best choice for the next opponent XI". Depending on your opponent's strength and weaknesses, you may need to switch a few players around. We aren't nowhere near superior that we can pick our lineup with the notion of letting the opposition worry completely about countering you.

Totally agree johnknee, we are on the majority of occasions the weaklink squad wise and need to play to counter most other teams instead of the other way around. 3/4 new players in the summer will possibly change that though - I hope!!!
