He was with us long enough to become Champions. I was responding to the question as to why he has gone back to Barnet multiple times. And I'd argue we did well for half a season, before we stuttered over the line. I guess the answer to that question could also be that he did well there, and was also liked by the chairman and supporters,as he always got a good reception when he returned. And who knows what he may of done for G.F.C if given the chance.that's something we will never know.(no matter what people think) I for one was grateful for what he did for Gillingham Football Club. (unlike some)

I think most people appreciate what he did for the club, the promotion at least.
And he is liked by Barnet as he kept them up several times. However, he was never there long enough each time for the negative aspects of his character to kick in and alienate people.

We went up as Champions yet we only played well for half a season and stuttered over the line, Utter rubbish. Yes we started amazingly but the fact remains over the whole season, 46 games, we finished 1st, that's it.

Agree swanleygill, when I read threads like this I think some supporters think unless we played 46 and win them all then it wasn't that great. All teams in all divs stutter during the season and many a title has been won with teams creeping over the line, that's why it's a league title won by the most consistent and not a weekly cup competition. I'll say again good luck ma
