Good luck to him I hope he finds success with them. He has given his all to Gillingham and it's just the end if the road for him and the Gills.

Top man I would like to wish him well.He is still under contract so don't rule out a come back at some point this season with such a young squad.

Slightly odd deal. If he goes there for 2 months, it can be extended by a month, but couldn't sign a permanent deal till January. If he's not in PT plans, that'll mean an unwanted player on our books for 2-3 months

But a few months away we could see him return refreshed and ready to play his part.

Good luck to him and hope that he makes a great impressions so he can get a longer deal to see him secure for a year or two. Like you guys above, wouldn't rule out a return in due course and am sure wherever he is it will always be 100% commitment.

But how many conceded goals will it take for some on here to be bemoaning the relative inexperience of the team and calling for some "old heads" to be included in the first team? Like statotheblue, I can see Barrett returning and still having a part to play this season.

Depends on how Legge and his partner cope. If they do well and Barrett does well at AFC Wimbledon then I wouldn't be surprised if Barrett would be allowed to sign for the Wombles for free in January.

I am not sure we will see that many youngsters in every game and if fish returns then likely to see one real change at centre half only, so defensively little will change and tbh if we conceded more goals than last year then will need to look at the midfield also and pt and his teams/formations. We will need to give them 4/5 games before we can really tell if we have serious issues, but I am hopeful and will give 100% backing fttb.

Yes I also thought that there is enough of the more mature players to balance the team

Agree the mix is pretty even and gives pt options he perhaps hadn't had before.
