The question has been asked many times this season already. With such a young squad it is a big job.Whoever gets the skippers job today and the rest of the season will need support of his team mates.
BUT HAVE NO DOUBT WHAT SO EVER WE CAN ALL WEAR THAT ARMBAND.
IF YOU ARE GOING TODAY OR NEXT WEEK WEAR THE ARMBAND WITH PRIDE.
LETS HEAR IT FOR THE GILLS.

I can tell we are getting close by the tone of the posts and the nerves are definitely kicking in. Good luck to the team today and hopeful of a result, which I think will be a great achievement first time out. COYG....

This business about us all wearing armbands. What exactly does it involve? I simply mean the team clearly needs our help the MK dons game showed that. The young players Taylor has bought in lack experience big time.Any skipper at this level would have his work cut out frankly. Those few minutes yesterday showed quite what we are up against in truth. If Cody is out long term it makes everyone's job harder. We may have the money to get in another young largely untried forward but the team will be younger still. 1 Unless we help this season we only go one way. 2 Give the lads that boost when they are on the pitch. 3 This is down to all of us not just the Rainham end. 4 We are in a fight this side needs bottle Taylor can only do so much once they step over that line. 5 Players like Loft and Kedwell will try to lift those around them but they can only do so much. 6 Too make this season a success we simply have to support the lads no matter what. 7 I know it will be hard to carry on trying to lift them when you get days when it goes pear shaped. 8 If the boo boys win we are down. 9 No point in a change of manager the choice has been made players have been largely picked this is what we have. 10 We are in a battle and every single one of us simply has to support the same aim or we will lose. BRING IT ON.I AM READY TO LEND MY SUPPORT ARE YOU? ?

Oh right. I thought it was a flood warning. I've been wearing water wings all weekend. I'll get me wetsuit.

Basically yes Triggers broom but what it will need is greater control than we have seen in the last few years.Frankly Gregory's treatment by many fans for example carried out on a lad of say 20 years old is going to get to him affect his game him far more than it would Gregory. Although I am sure it never helped Stephen at all it no doubt only had say at a guess 5% affect on his game. The lads Taylor has brought in still have rough edges and will lack consistency. If the crowd treat them like they have our own young players over the years we should be OK.But any abuse always get to a young player more.Saturday has shown that there will be times when they will need help.At MK the our fans in the crowd were largely quiet this is of course better than abuse but more vocal supportive noise would help give the young lads a boost.I am sure the support helps the likes of Nelson Cody and Keds that's great but we will simply have to do better than that in my view if Taylor gamble is to pay off.We all need to support the whole team not just the few bits that we can depend on.Or just when things are going well.

For all of the "Taylor has brought in youth" he hasn't focused solely on it. Morris and Morris are experienced enough campainers. McGleshan is an experienced player as is Loft. It is only Egan, Norris and Hause (I am sure I missed someone out) that are newly acquired youth. Dack has played enough games (50 or so) not to be dismissed as a youngster learning the game like Egan etc could be. And Hess Jr has been used sensibly to give him experience. It was only really Egan, Hause and Hess who started the match who could be said to be inexperinced youth - the rest were established players...
