I know the Gills have some Australian fans, and was wondering if there were any Canadian supporters. I am Canadian myself and have supported the Gills for a number of years now.

Do you mean Canadians by birth or just resident in Cnada? I am English but live in the USA and have supported the Gills and Chelsea for over 40 years. In better touch with the news now thanks to this site.

I meant resident or by birth.I am English, but lived/worked in Canada for 31 years. I have to say that whilst there I was an Ice Hockey fan supporting the Ottawa Senators. Away games usually involved flying (which I was not too keen about) but never the less visited many American cities which I would not necessarily have visited. Following the Gills is similar but so much easier, going to away games by coach. Once again have visited some very interesting towns, cities, and stadiums. As you are aware Sunnyboy, one of the differences between watching sport here, and watching sport "across the pond" is that the Home and Away fans are not segregated. It makes the event that much more interesting in my experience.

Strange how fans don't fight or argue in the stands here. It happens but very rare indeed. Went to an MLS game on Saturday between San Jose Earthquakes and Dallas. Crowd of over just over 10,000 in an older college football stadium. Poor facilities that made Priestfiled look like New Wembley. Field wa ok but everything else a mess. Have enjoyed great atmosphere at most sports especially at college and even high school level. Fans are appreciative, mostly except for the officials.

I'm a bit late in replying, but yes, there are Gills supporters here in Canuck Land! I have been following the gills for almost 60 years in Canada and before that in England. I know there are several others in Canada too.
I mostly post on the old e-mail list that has been around for 15 years, started by Keith Pestell and Alan Liptrott, Don't post here very much.
I was lucky enough to see both play-off Wembley games at old Wembley in 1999 and 2000. I have the Gills scarf and teddy bear in the back window of my car as well as a mini-kit here in Victoria. It's not easy being a Gills supporter, but such is life.

Hi there guess I can contact you directly now if list is dead . Had my first ever cash in bet last night with gills up 2-1 could not see the game ending that way, but wish I was soon wrong, another bet my have been that we have seen goal of the season for Hause. Brilliant goal all considered. Sorry for Bywater not done anything wrong before then except kicking not his best point .

Bywater used to hold the record for the longest dead ball kick in the leagues, seems to have lost that ability! Nice to hear from all you international gills and look forward to more posts.
