It would seem from my perspective the gills are lacking a identity, or chosen style of play, if you look, you can find excuses for this, injuries, suspensions ect.... and one way is not the only way, but it is a basic, Why can't PT decide a best way ie, 4-4-2 with 2 out and out wingers in midfield, 3-5-2 with wing backs, 4-3-3 that actually hold that line, 4-4-2 diamond using a defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder, we seem to dib dab doing a bit of this and a bit of that, it frustrates the hell out of me, And as some have noticed, our fitness does appear to be dwindling a tad, not something we worried about when MA was manager, but something which was evident when AH was in charge, how much say is AH having on the training ground.
I strongly believe we do have the players to finish 12th-20th but one win in 10 can not be ignored, I am not calling for the sacking of PT, i never wanted him in the first place, but i do just wish such a experienced coach had some form of direction.

Playing two wingers at this level leaves the other two midfielders chasing far too many players when under pressure. The return to form of Dack and playing him in a advanced central roll like he played against Crawley could be the answer. But I feel we must leave MacGlashan or Dickenson out almost regardless of form in order to give us balance and enough players to stop other teams taking hold of the midfield.Playing a left sided midfielder for Dickenson or a right sided one for MacGlashan could be the answer.
We need to earn that right to play the changes yesterday were seen by some as wrong but I feel Taylor finally got it right 3 midfielders and one winger could make us harder to play against and allow Dack, Loft and Doughty to get forward to support the attack.

I think we got it right in the second half but he really needs to get it right at start of play.

Modern football is about having a variety of tactics and formations and changing them depending on the game. The days of 4-4-2 and playing one formation have been dead for about 10 years

Did i say use 1 formation, i said we don't seem to use any formation for more than 5 minutes per match. I think when you are in relegation trouble, back to basics, and getting the basics right is key, have good fitness levels, defend from the front, close down, pass and move, be available in space ect...

I am not sure any formation is correct at the minute as we are desperate for confidence and whatever we play when confidence is that low you start to fall back to your 18 yard box when the opposition get a foot hold in games. I do agree for the time being perhaps a settled side would help with a set formation to see if we can gain confidence that way, but as a couple have said football today is about being able to adapt to different formations and we still need to do this when the situation dictates.
