I know that games versus Colchester based on past are always fiesty affairs.
Clean sheet must be the basis for any victory I think because we do struggle for goals mainly due to the way the team is set up by a manager who is out of his depth in league one which tells me all I need to know. The faith had gone, the belief in the players and a snowman has more movement on the touchline that this clown.
I would be happy with 1-0 victory. But think 1-1 or 0-0 is the best we can hope for.
I see you all there later.

I have backed Gills to win but that is only in blind faith! Faith certainly not in Taylor, not going today our 3-0 defeat under Taylor there last season was enough for me!

The support would have been a lot larger in seasons past but I have to admire the diehards, does Taylor deserve them? Well done Gills pity Luton let me down in my accumulator!

I meet a couple of gillingham friends at the Colchester game, it was nice to win on Boxing Day but let's not get too carried away with this win, we beat a very poor Colchester side who on another day would have won this game by at least 2 clear goals if they had their shooting boots on. It was very evident today that many of the players did not want to play for taylor, the midfield was overrun for long periods of time and the defending was chaotic at times, and this against a side who are probably going down this season. The current squad of players we have at our disposal are heading for league 2 on this evidence, there definitely is a distinct lack of belief in the players, nelson was on top form, Cody was looking very lively and had to run around and make himself a menace because the service was poor, lingazi was a waste of space when he came on looked like a fairly prancing around the pitch and I could see there was no real effect from him because he is leaving in January. we need a big guy like a bayo, guy ipoua or a emile heskey type of striker who can hold up the ball well and bring others into play, I don't want to keep going on about this but the way taylor has got us set up this is the best way for us to move forward because Norris and Dickenson are a million miles away from being good enough to play regularly and pinning our hopes on these players ito deliver is good as going down to league 2 already. we need a character or two with experience in our side because there are no strong vocal voices in our side.
We are still very much in a relegation battle on this seasons results and performances and situation regarding our clown manager has not changed for me.
New Years resolution for taylor.
Bring in a combative and industrious midfield player with good experience like a David batty.
A experienced striker to do the donkey work and compliment Cody because all season taylor has got the combinations wrong and played garbage players alongside cody. Make it happen with these signings and we stand a chance of finishing mid table. Don't listen and Im sure we are heading for more of the same rubbish being served up by taylor and at the moment the teams performs and results reflect very much that taylor about his shortcoming. There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that taylor will not be here long term because he lacks the necessary skill to manage on a consistency basis and I won't budge on that. I would bring in Shaun Derry at notts county anyday of the week over this idiot.
See you all at home to Bristol and enjoy Xmas everybody.

For once, I don't totally disagree with everything you've written and I don't think PT would disagree about the need to make some changes- he's already said he's looking to move 5-6 on and bring players in. I have no doubt linganzi will be one of those. However, whilst we rode our luck, we also had a big decision go against us that would have put us 3-1 up and comfortable for the rest of the game.
I do believe we have a combative midfielder in the squad in Aaron Morris. He reminds me of Mark Saunders. I've been saying since the summer we are a striker light and assuming Kedwell moves on, we will be even more so.
One of the biggest things for me though is that we are only 5 points now off very big spending Peterborough and only 6 off the play offs. I'm in no way suggesting we will get close, but it shows we aren't that far off. Stay up this season and our young squad will have a year of experience behind it and will be better for that come next year. If we stay up, we will reap the benefits of what the manager and club are trying to achieve.

Agree Hess and as other posts we do need a change of face or two. As for more I don't think we have seen the best if him yet and I am already impressed - needs to stay injury free and we will then gave a very useful utility player, but agree midfield is his best position.
